The car itself is a solid California no-rust wagon which has had a considerable amount of work and customizing done to it. The original engine was a 5.0 Liter V8 but has been replaced with a 5.7 Liter V8 with a 4-bolt main out of a Chevy Suburban with only 75,000 miles on the motor. The Caprice runs excellent and passed California Smog with no problems. The paint was professionally done approximately 1 year ago using a 2007 Lexus 3-Stage Pearl Coat Paint. The "Woodgrain" is custom airbrushed on the sides and tailgate. The entire wagon was clearcoated again after the woodgrain was completed. This wagon looks absolutely amazing and gets more compliments than almost anything we've driven. The detail of the woodgrain is incredible and looks even better in person. The airbrushing was done by a local artist who did not spare any expense. The interior has been mostly redone. All three rows of seats have been reuphosltered in the original cloth with custom vinyl along the edges to compliment the woodgrain color. The door panels were also redone in the custom vinyl to match. The headliner was replaced as were all the carpets. The dashpad is original and is in excellent condition with no discoloration, cracking or fading. The radio is a Pioneer AM/FM/CD which works great. All the windows (with the exception of the windshield) have been professionally tinted and add to the custom look of the wagon. The tailgate on the wagon works perfectly and opens as a door or a tailgate. The Woody runs and drives excellent. We've put approximately 1,000 miles on it, using it as a weekend cruiser. The A/C has been converted to R-134 and works perfectly. The heater and defroster work fine. New springs and shocks were installed within the last year and a half. Impala SS wheels with new tires have also been added. The wheels are in good condition with some clearcoat fading. Everything on the wagon works great. All the electrical options work including both front power seats. It is a very comfortable cruising wagon and gets plenty of looks wherever it goes. These wagons are among the sleekest ever made and the custom features make for a real attention getter that could be used as a daily driver if desired. There is a clear California title on the wagon and it recently passed the strict California Smog tests. The reserve will not be disclosed during the auction. Sorry but we spend weekends with our families.VEHICLE REGISTRATION, SALES TAX, SMOG, FEES, ETC: We are a licensed California auto dealer. The state requires that if you're out of state and plan on coming here to pick up the vehicle, you need to know that California law REQUIRES the buyer to pay sales tax, registration, and smog fee's if they pick up the car and drive it away. This is still the LAW even if you put the car on your trailer and it never touches the California roadway. If you're out of state, avoid can avoid all of these required fees by having your car shipped to your state. This in most cases is less expensive anyway by the time you figure gas, lodging, and other expenses. If you're an out of state buyer but picking up the vehicle and driving home, we can reduce the state required registration to a $16.00 one trip permit, but the other fees will still apply. If you are a California resident, we collect sales tax, registration fee, and a $58.25 smog inspection fee. We then provide you with temporary registration in the window so you can legally drive the vehicle until your title and license plates arrive in the mail. All sales require a $55.00 DMV and paperwork fee. This covers the costs of our mailings of the title, bill of sale, license plates if required, and going to the DMV for you on your behalf.
