Vehicle Detail
283 V8 with 3-on-the-tree transmission, power steering (although inop in assisting at the moment) power rear window (needs troubleshooting but is there) dual exhaust with glass packs. 13x7 spoke wheels with almost new tires. Very solid wagon and ready to build the way you want it to look. I sold my truck then saw this and couldn't pass it up since I'm a wagon fan. I've fixed a few things and driven roughly 100 or so miles in town but now it's up to the new owner to take it to the next level. When I got it the bell crank was broken which is common for 3-on-the-tree older cars. I replaced the Bellcrank and pivot bolts then I took it to a body shop and had them fix and re-enforce the frame side mounting bracket (feels a lot more solid now) I picked up a used front seat in good shape with strong springs and is comfortable. You could easily get and interior kit and slap a new seat cover on and be done with the front seat. looking the car over it's really pretty solid. It's lowered in the back with spring compressors. The distributor has been changed over to HEI. The 3rd seat well is in good shape since this has been an AZ car all it's life. You can see someone started welding in the trim holes but those could be drilled out. I'm not sure of the exact history of this car and the previous owner claims 22,000 original miles. I always have a hard time believing "original miles" but there's a good chance that it is. It has a "box A" Arizona title and I had DMV do a title search that only showed one previous owner. The engine area looks original, you can see orange paint on some of the bolts like the NEG battery motor location but no tooling marks on the bolt. The 1st digit in the speedo is inline in the correct position, and I know the 1st digit will come up offset from the consecutive digits when the miles turn past 100,000. The front seat springs were really flat as if the car was used for storage for a long time and the rear seat is still flat on the bottom. The body is dry and the interior is dry rotted like it's been sitting in the AZ sun for awhile. I did notice today that the frame forward of the passenger side idler arm is smashed in some like the car was in low speed fender bender at some point so I'm thinking maybe that's why it sat keeping the miles low. I guess you'll have to make up your own mind as to "original miles" but feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
