1964 Volvo 544 Sport B-18 I’ve had this car for decades as my daily driver. Now it’s time for it to bring fun to a new home. This car has been well maintained at Volvo Centrum, the premier independent Volvo garage in San Francisco. All records are available. Recent rebuilds include the entire brake system including new (not rebuilt) drums. This classic is in good condition, ready to drive home (once properly registered – see below). Notice the license plate: 544JWS. This is not a vanity plate. It was a random issue by the California Department of Motor Vehicles! The title is clear. The car is registered for Planned Non-Operation. A very modest fee will place it back in fully registered status. Like any vehicle of this vintage this Volvo has some dents (see photos) and quirks. Among the quirks is the need to pull up slightly on the driver’s side window when raising it (easy fix) and the need to return the ignition key to the “run” position after starting. Both quickly become second nature. The speedometer/odometer arenot working (broken speedometer cable). There was a failure of the turn signal switch a decade ago or so. Rather than replace the original I simply installed a switch on the opposite side of the steering column. There are two radio antennas on the roof, both easily removable (see photos). The glove compartment box is missing. But the original Volvo 544 owners manual is included! Full disclosure: The photo of the vehicle under the trees was taken when it was wet, just after a wash. It's not actually that shiny. But that's how it would look after polishing! This car has never failed to elicit smiles from all who see it. Questions? Just ask.
