Vehicle Detail

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo RWD This picture shows the crumpled hood, but also the very nice grille guard, and that beautiful heavy duty transmission oil cooler underneath the license plate holder. The crumpled hood might be able to be fixed by a body man, with a rubber hammer. I dont know, I'm not into body work. Check out that high performance open element air intake with K&N filter, good for a lifetime! Check out that awesome flex a lite high performance fan! The steering wheel isnt straight only because the front wheels are turned in this photo. The front end is in very good condition on this vehicle, the tire wear is very even; this has never been any problem at all. The glovebox door just has a little bit of limestone dust on it, this could be cleaned off pretty easily. (other parts of the vehicle, though, have stains) This photo looks pretty good of these leather seats. However, in person they have more and deeper creases in both front and rear seats. There are no cuts or tears in any of the seats. These photos actually make these aluminum rims look a little bit better- in person they are pitted more. No cracks or checks in any tire, and all have decent and even tread wear. Also, you can see one of those high quality Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks- they truly do a great job! Notice that Eaton E-locker switch next to the tilt wheel lever. Looks just like factory, doesn't it? Eaton E-lockers are great if you ever go into mud or snow. Although there is very little snow here in Gatesville, TX, there is mud at times, and it is useful for that. Pretty cool to have the original window sticker. This is a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 173,225 or so miles. Purchased by my wife and I in June 2004 from Ebay- we have a copy of the add. This has served us well- it has been my wife’s vehicle, she’s put around 100,000 miles on this. (she drives like grandma!) Here are the strengths of this vehicle: 1. Engine compression: I document engine compression when I buy a vehicle. This JGC had the following compression when we bought the vehicle, June 2004: (cylinder 1-6) 175, 179, 180, 180, 180, 175. I’ve sold several vehicles over the years, none have ever lost engine compression, due to modifications I've made. 2. As with all of our vehicles, it has the following modifications: (it is hot in Texas, and we like ice cold a/c, and long engine/transmission life. You lose engine/transmission life from excess heat) a. 180 degree thermostat : makes the engine/transmission last far longer, the a/c doesn’t have to work near as hard. Heat is an engine/transmission killer, it must be stabilized. b. High performance flex a lite or derale fans- 2 in front of a/c condenser, (comes on automatically with the a/c) and one to replace the stock engine fan. (shown in picture) Flex a lite & derale fans are excellent, check out their reviews. c. Heavy duty transmission oil cooler: best available, Summit Racing, truly outstanding! d. Deep tinted glass, further eases the workload on the a/c. e. Open element air filter, as shown in pictures. This provides for much more room underhood, much cleaner design, air filter can be serviced very easily, slightly better gas mileage and slightly more power due to improved engine breathing, and the filter lasts a lifetime. Pays for itself due to not having to change air filters. f. Heavy duty Rancho RS9000 shocks. One JGC weakness for many years is poor shocks; this fixes that. These are fully adjustable shocks- if the ride is too stiff, ease up one notch, you’ll notice the difference. If the vehicle leans too much in corners- tighten them up one notch. Very easy to adjust whenever you rotate the tires. g. Eaton E-locker in the rear axle, with switch on the dash, appears factory. (shown in picture) We’re here in Gatesville, TX right now. However, we’re from Kansas, this JGC has RWD, so this is needed there. It works, locks the axle to get out of tight spots, then unlocks with the switch, when not needed. Does not affect gas mileage. (If this JGC had 4WD- gas mileage would be reduced) 3. Deeply chromed grille guard, very nice quality, shown in picture. 4. General Grabber tires that match, and have decent tread left, though not new. Size 245/70R16. 5. Service manual, owner’s manual, even the original vehicle sticker included! Shown in pictures. Here are the weaknesses of this vehicle: a. Recently, I accidentally left the hood latched only with the initial latch, not closed completely one day, since I was working on the JGC, then forgot about it. My wife left to town- the initial catch latch failed, and the hood flew up on her driving down the road. The result is the hood is crumpled and needs replaced. No apparent windshield damage. The hood has to be held up with a wooden stick; the hood struts are disconnected. The hood does function well and shuts tightly; even the initial catch works now! b. The child window lock feature for the back seats- doesn’t work. c. Driver side rear window- doesn’t go up or down. Probably bad motor. d. Aluminum wheels have some pitting. I have been as honest as I can on both postive and negative aspects of this outstanding Jeep Grand Cherokee. This will make someone a nice vehicle for a long time. It is NOT BRAND NEW. The a/c is still ice cold. However, there are minor defects in the paint, mostly on the hood. Keep in mind, this JGC has 173,225 miles- it is NOT NEW. The leather interior does not have open cuts anywhere, but there are a few stains, many creases, etc. The carpet has several stains, but not worn thru. There does not appear to be any rust anywhere on this vehicle. It could use some more cleaning. BASICALLY- DON’T COME OUT HERE AND NIT-PICK EVERY LITTLE THING! BID ACCORDINGLY. YOU BID, AND YOU’RE THE HIGH BIDDER, YOU JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE! WHAT YOU BID IS WHAT YOU PAY, THERE WILL BE NO ADJUSTMENTS FOR NOTHING. DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU’RE ACTUALLY BUYING THIS JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, I HAVE HEARD ALL OF THE EXCUSES- DO NOT GIVE ME ANY. THIS WILL SELL IF IT GETS THE INITIAL BID, THERE IS NO RESERVE!
