FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT SKIP THE NEXT PARAGRAPH. Some say this was the first Honda super bike. It may be so. To me this is the end of the "super BIKE" era. ?? What's he talking about?? In 1969 Hond introduced the venerable 4 cylinder, Single Overhead Cam (SHOC), air cooled, carburated CB750. From 1969 until 1982 the CB750 was one of Honda's flagship models. The 69-74 750 came as the K model. Then in 1975 Honda introduced the CB750f/Super Sport and sold that model here from 75 to 78. I am going to take a short cut here and concern myself with only the F from here on as a lot happened around this time. In 1979 we got the Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) CB750Fs Super Sport that lasted until 1982, The F bikes were more streamlined and were the basis of many road racers In 1981 Honda brought the bigger, faster CB900F to America. In 1983 I think Honda reached the end of the line with the great air cooled inline 4s. Honda gave us the top of the food chain in the cb1100f. From 1984 on the high performance bikes got water cooling and on to FI. The old girls had served with honor and led Honda to great motorcycles they are today. BUT if you want to know waht a motorcycle should look like though... look below. THE BIKE This is not a stock or original CB1100F. It has been modified. The engine has never been out of the frame and the motor has never been taken apart other than outer covers to allow for service. The frame number on this bike, for those interested into such things is 796 and the engine number is 998. The bike is less than perfect but is a perfect rider. The stock carbs are gone and replaced with Mikuni 33mm VM carbs, the front end is in excellent condition and has new seals, the shock have been replaced with Marzocchi non resivor shocks, cams are stock and in excellent condition, valves have been checked and set to factory specs, pipe is a kerker canister type, bars are 3 piece sport kit type and the controls on the bars are euro/sport kit type on both sides and there's a Big Crank Battery. The body is in good condition I'd say. The fairing has a crack/scratch about 4" long, he tank has a marr on the left side from the brake lever on another bike and the tail is marred from what looks like a bungee. Color is not faded and she shines up pretty nicely. I got a Guliari seat from my friend in Anderson CA and had it professionally covered. The seat is very comfortable and allow one to move around and use passenger pegs with ease. Once more this bike is alter into a period correct "Street Racer". I can not recomend this bike to inexperianced riders. It is a big bike wih 108hp in stock trim. I have never dynoed the ole girl because it seems too harsh to me but you can assume ther is some gain in horse power from carbs and pipe. I recently checked, cleaned and reset the float bowls. Check to pics of the intake track.Tires are about a third to half gone and are BT45Vs. This bike will garner attention whenever you stop where other bikes hangout. I can get more pics if you have any area of concern, HISTORY I have owned the bike since May of 05 and believe I am the third owner. I bought it from a nice young man who had no concept of mechanics or maintainance. The bike came to me from Santa Ana, CA and I think it may have lived outdoors in a carport or simular space for some time. I never saw any evidence of a crash only neglect in a cosmetic way. There was corrosion or corruption of the clear coat on the outter engine covers which have all been replaced, the seat was gone, the turn signals were gone, the stock fairing was gone but the bike came with an uninstalled full Pichler fairing as though someone may have been preping the bike for some sort of custom look. I got the bike home cleaned to carbs and she fired right off. From that day to this the bike has never failed to start of do anything but run well. I installed all the above stuff over a period of time and have and do enjoy the bike immensly. Things have changed and I need the room in my garage. It will be truely hard to part with this bike. Registaration paid until 5-12. I have saved and sold a few Fs. This is my 4th 1100 and I kept it till now as she has always been the best of the bunch. So there you have it. Cb1100f street rod/racer. A muscle bike reminesent Dodge Challenger 440, sixpack. I will meet a shipper or drop the bike at forward air at SFO or SAC for free upon cleared payment. The bike is in the SF East Bay Area. Go for it, it's one of the faster BLUE BIKES. .On Sep-14-11 at 22:51:49 PDT, seller added the following information: grump0070 Store
