Vehicle Detail

This auction is for my 1987 ASC/McLaren. Total ASC/McLaren Mustang production from 1987 to 1990 included only 1806 cars. In 1987 only 479 were built. This car is #475, and only 28 were blue/blue that year. This is a very original car that has never been modified or customized like many of the mustangs from the 1980's. It even still has the "Ford" exhaust, and runs very quiet. ASC stands for American Specialty Company. They were better know for their work on all of the GM convertibles built in the mid-1980's. The McLaren Company is still in existence, and sells all parts needed to restore a Mustang ASC/McLaren. Please visit www.ascmclaren.com to learn more about this rare car, and view their parts catalog. The car is located in Rockford, Illinois, and I would be glad to show the car in person during this auction. Rockford is 90 minutes south of Madison and 90 minutes west of Chicago. Options: - Automatic transmission - Air Conditioning (not working) - Cruise Control (not working) - Cassette Stereo - Power trunk release - Power windows - Power gas door release - Fog lights - Optional OZ 15 inch gold rims (made in Italy) - Leather interior - Dual Power Lumbar seats - Optional blue cloth top - McLaren tail light covers Condition: In its present condition it is an enjoyable daily driver. It is dependable and drives very nice. The rear tires are in good condition, but the front tires should be replaced. The leather is very nice with one tear on vinyl on the outside of the driver's seat. The top is original, and is still in very nice condition with no tears. The rear windows are hazy but not yellow, and you can see traffic behind you. To be a show car, the entire car should be repainted. I believe that all the paint is original. The clear coat is pealing on the hood and trunk, and it has many chips and scratches. It is a solid car originally from California with no serious rust spots. A nice paint job would more than double the value of a car that is this rare. This summer I have had a new windshield installed, and new outside metal door handles. Completion of Sale: Upon winning this auction; I would prefer to meet the buyer in person to sign over the car and title. I have the clear title in my name ready to be signed over upon satisfaction of payment. If needed I can travel to help deliver the car if the buyer pays for the expenses. Also, upon winning the auction; I would like to talk with the buyer on the phone to make arrangements within 24 hrs. A deposit isn't necessary if we've scheduled a delivery time. To answer a few questions: - It does not leak or burn oil. Also, It doesn't leak any other fluids. I was told that it had some mechanical work done before I bought it. Also, the vehicle report shows a history that is free of accidents, insurance claims, or title problems. - It was sold new in California, and did not come to Illinois until 2002. I have the original sales contract showing that the car was sold new on 12-22-87 with 29 miles on it for $25,896.20 by Broad Ford in Whittier, California. If you have questions about the car or want to see it in person; please give me a call. (815)670-5962 cell Todd
