TODAY I AM OFFERING FOR SALE MY 1965 4 DOOR IMPALA SPORT SEDAN WHICH IS A BEAUTIFUL PART OF "AMERICANA" WHICH HAS RECEIVED A FRAME ON RESTORATION AND FLOATS DOWN THE ROAD LIKE SHE WAS NEW! *A little history of the vehicle> The car was built in Janesville, WI and shipped to Nebraska where it spent the first 40 years. There is absolutely no rust, rot or bondo anywhere on this car and the trunk and rear quarters are all original solid. I picked up the car in North Platte and drove it to Sun City,Az where it spent the next 2 years driving it locally while visiting relatives on holidays. I brought the car to Grand Rapids, MI to rebuild a 327 motor and perform the frame-on restoration. *Whats been done> Pors 15 chassis black has been correctly applied to power washed frame and under carriage/a 327 motor(not original with this car) was rebuilt and original powerglide transmission was rebuilt and a new torque converter was installed. A dealer installed under the dash AC unit is included with the car but not fully installed. The compressor has been mounted on the motor and a 4 core heavy duty desert radiator was purchased new and installed. The remaining parts of the AC are in the trunk as pictured. I have replaced the heater core and the old points have been replaced with electronic ignition. Motor runs very strong and I have documented 15 mpg in the 10,000 miles driven on the rebuilt 327. (I would confidently drive this car anywhere-and I have! It has a very comfortable ride cruising at 70 mph) New white paint/new seat covers/new carpet/ all refurbished interior from the new package tray in the back, thru the door panels with re-chromed armrest holders, to the repainted dash with re-chromed speedometer and instrument bezel. Headliner is original and tight and presents very well. 3 sets of seatbelts have been installed in the rear seat. Car has new tires and good original single master cylinder drum brakes and with recent alignment stops very nice without the typical pull to the left. Completely new dual exhaust installed. *What remains to be done> Windshield washer fluid pump needs a rebuild kit/ AM radio is all hooked up but does not play/sun visors could use a re-stitching/AC installation needs to be completed/side window exterior weather strips show some cracking and eventually should be attended to.
