Vehicle Detail
1946 Ford Deluxe Tudor Sedan Texas Survivor VIDEO ABOVE / PRESS PLAY This long time one-family owned Ft. Worth Texas car was placed on blocks and stored in a garage full-time beginning in the early 1980s. It has been resurrected with new water pumps, belts, radiator hoses, thermostats, fuel pump, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake lines, gas tank cleaned & sealed, gas lines flushed, 4-new 6.00 x 16 inner tubes, tune-up, carburetor, etc. This car displays one repaint of the original gray done in the 1970s along with vintage original interior throughout. It is a very unique example ready to own and enjoy. Titled as a 1947 (frame # matches its Texas title), this late '46 model was a preferred choice of the young service men coming home. Ford's model line-up was extensively re-designed in 1941 and would be re-started in 1946. This example showcases one exterior repaint of its original gray finish and is a zero rust example, always a dry climate Texas Ford. It runs, drives, and stops, the engine just receiving a recent tune and mechanical work. The stylish '46 Ford grille enjoyed heavy chrome, horizonal bars along with red accents. You could order either a Fordor or this a Tudor sedan. The iconic flathead V8 engine retains its 6-volt positive ground charging system. It has recently been professionally tuned-up with new water pumps, rebuild carburetor, belts, etc. The engine has been restored as well in Ford blue. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm clean and detailed original paint throughout the firewall. The inner fenders, firewall, and core support are excellent. This is an exceptional survivor that has aged well over the decades thanks to a loving family and nearly 30 confirmed years out of the sunlight sitting on blocks in the garage. The wheels & tires were removed and stored in the gentleman's home, well preserved. Open the door to the 1940s. This car retains its original interior. When we found this car, the back seat was covered up. We removed the seat cover to find perfect original upholstery. The front seat, door panels, headliner, and carpeting are original as well. The dash displays all original gauges which are working. The original radio is pitted and aged, but it does come on and makes static. The original vacuum operated wipers are working as good as they did in the '40s at the least. The vintage dash plastics show well, including the Ford clock delete plate. Underneath the trunk lid, you'll find the excellent original trunk pan along with remnants of the original brittle trunk mat. This car has spent time at Tarrant County Community College in '70-'71 as well as East Texas State University, the identifying decals bright and intact. The last registration is also intact on the windshield. All of the glass is in exceptional condition. The windows roll up and down easily. The doors fit tight and the car is just a very solid example. We acquired a lot of paperwork and learned the car was shown in the 1970s and the owner was a member of the Vintage Ford club. The door displays original oil change tags dating back nearly 40 years. This car shows 64,855 miles, confirmed original to the car. The fresh air cowl is fully operational. This '46 Ford displays all original Henry Food sheetmetal throughout. The car looks great. The paint still shines up. It does have some chips and minor imperfection to it. The undercarriage is in original condition, showcasing the undetailed original flooring and framework throughout. This is a very solid example and this is reflected throughout the car. This car is available for inspection in Dallas, Texas by appointment. You can reach Sam at 972-748-6389 with any questions. Enjoy the remaining photos. This is your opportunity to own a great example of an early post-war Ford, the 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Tudor Sedan.
