The 1955 Chevy line-up boasted a new sheetmetal design, suspension, and the powerful new "Turbo-Fire" V8 option. These sleek design features and quality engineering would cement the 1955 Chevy in Americans then and now. This truck features quality base/clearcoat paint that shows exceptionally well throughout. The grille and bumper chrome shows as new. The 1955 Chevrolet's fresh design showcases an egg crate grille along with the truck industries first "wrap-around" windshield. Chevrolet advertisment coined this the "Sweep-Sight Windshield." This is a "small back window" truck. Another innovative features of the '55 Chevy trucks were these shrouded headlights, giving the truck almost a femininity about it. There was nothing feminine about the new "Task-Force" '55 Chevy Trucks though! Under the hood is an updated 350 c.i. 4bbl. V8 engine matched with a TH350 Automatic Transmission. The engine compartment is clean and detailed. Accessories include air conditioning and power steering along with power front disc brakes. Further inspection of the engine compartment will reveal factory solid inner fenderwells, a clean and detailed firewall, and solid original core support steel. The hood underside is clean and detailed as well, finished in contrasting black. The interior features the original gauge cluster along with update leather bucket seating. This is a comfortable truck to drive. The air conditioning blows exceptionally well and cold. 1955 Chevrolet Truck's now featured "key turn start" for your convenience. This truck has been updated with a locking tilt steering column. The undercarriage is clean and detailed as well. The front end has been fitted with a Camaro clip along with front disc brakes. The rear end is a 10-bolt. The flooring, cab corners, and bed underside are in excellent condition. The wood bed is polished and detailed, highlighted with stainless stripes. The inside of the bed and the tailgate is beautifully detailed and in excellent condition. This bed was built to show. The running boards are concealed behind the doors, another innovative '55 feature. These running boards are steel and excellent. I also want to mention that the doors, hood, and tailgate align properly and operate correctly. This Chevy rides on 15-inch Custom Rally Wheels wrapped in B.F. Goodrich Radial T/As.
