Vehicle Detail
I am reluctantly selling my 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D Turbo Diesel. This has been my personal vehicle for nearly 10 years. Car has 362,xxx miles. All Highway due to my job in NJ and driving between Fl and Pa. I am selling because my driveway is getting full and taking care of all these cars is getting to be a full time job. I Bought the car from a small shop in Daytona Beach Florida when I lived down there, the shop owner was selling the car for his friend (the original owner) who moved to the mid-west. PLEASE NOTE This is a 27 year old car! Don't come and expect this to be perfect. A/C and power antenna do not work. Heating system works as should and all 3 blower motor levels work well. Car runs and drives great. New inspection sticker as of July. I recently replaced all brake calipers, rotors, and pads on all 4 wheels, new windshield and gaskets (windshield, all 4 doors and trunk), new fenders and 4 rust-free doors with all new weather stripping. I have all the old panels to prove that it was not in an accident, just were a little rusty. I put in a cd/ mp3 player with Sirius satellite radio, speakers are original. I also put on the European bumpers on this car and got rid of the ugly American crash bumpers (american bumpers will come with the car if wanted). I changed out the 3.07 rear end to the 2.88 diff from a 1985 Mercedes 300D. (3.07 will come with the car if you want it) This results in lower RPM at highway speeds. Upgraded to the chrome cowl vents. I have kept a record of everything I have done to the car, just as the owner before me had done as well. Oil changed every 4-5000 miles. Diehard PLATINUM battery that will start the car on the North Pole with free replacement until Nov 2011 with a new alternator. I would not to hesitate to drive this car across country today. Car has 4 very good tires. As always the things that you would expect from a Mercedes, like power windows, locks, sunroof, automatic trans (shifts smooth with no flare) 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 wheel independent suspension. I average 28 MPG highway. Car is in pretty good shape. NO known accidents. It has never been smoked in since I have owned the car and it doesn't seem like the previous owned did either. This would be an excellent candidate for a Bio-Diesel conversion. Car is metallic gray with black interior. It has the original first aid kit and the coveted "orange triangle" from the European market in the trunk. I am a professional, as such DO NOT WASTE MY TIME with tire kickers, joy riders or low ballers. I can send you any picture you would like, just let me know.
