Vehicle Detail
I had to relist this because I violated some sort of EBAY policy so hopefully all is good now. Up for sale is my 67 AMC Rebel SST hardtop. I Know there are many places to sell a rare or special interest vehicle but Ebay has the coverage. This particular car came from Florida and was restored about three years ago by a devoted AMC fan in Texas. There are numorous pictures of it on the ---- . I have owned and enjoyed this car for two years but must now sell it due to a new little baby. We are keeping our 67 Convertible (there is a picture of it on our member profile page) and hopefully going to hot rod that one day. Enough about that, this car is a extremely rare car built the first run in 66' for the 67 year. it was number 703 off the assembly line and with 96,000 Rebels made that year, most likely made the first week. The car came pretty much loaded with every option except power windows and cruise control. Most hot rodders wouldn t have ordered these anyway. But what it did come with makes this car low numbers and rare. Less than 900 came with the 4 speed trans and even rarer is the factory tach on the dash.Add the A/C and discs ,the numbers are low. The car also has factory A/C, bucket seats without console, the biggest engine you could get, a one year only color ( flamingo burgundy) and front disc brakes. The interior of the car is practically perfect with new correct seat coverings . The exterior is really nice but I would say the paint is a 8 out of ten. The paint looks great but there are a couple of small spots that look like the metallic floated out as it was being sprayed or got over buffed. Not many people would even notice them. It also has two small scratches that are hard to notice. Over all the body is very solid with no rust anywhere. The stainless is in great shape and the bumpers where rechromed. It also has the correct vinyl top. One window needs a slight adjustment ,it rolls up too far .I usually just keep them all down anyway. The underside is very solid ,but has never been detailed. That should be a very easy project. Mechanically this car runs like a top . The 343 was rebuilt before I got it and has tons of power and torque. It also has a rare R-4B group 19 manifold with serial numbers and a awesome duel exhaust with Hedman Headers. The 4 speed is a stock T- 10 Borg and Warner so parts are easy to get. The clutch is tight but the 4 speed is tricky to shift if you dont know where the gears are. once you get the hang of it it shifts fine. As soon as I bought this car I had the whole front end and trunions rebuilt by Fast lane Fabrications here in Md. as well as fixing all the brake and dash lights and signals. They cleaned up alot of wiring mess the car came with. I have won a few awards with this car and it won first in its catagory at the AMC nationals in Annapolis, MD this July. Overall this is a very rare and desirable car that pre dated the AMX, Javelin , Donahue and all the other hot AMC's. It needs a little work to finish but if you want something very different ,here you go . Thanks fo looking and good luck , you wont be disappointed.
