Vehicle Detail
All this car does is drive! Affectionately called, “The Egg”, you are looking at a 1999 Chevy (Geo) Metro LSI, 4 cylinder, automatic. The title is clear and in my name (Massachusetts title). This has been my daily driver since March. I bought this car because my job required a lot of driving and based the on the mileage the car gets, the Metro was an easy decision. It costs under $40 to fill from dead empty and gets 40+ MPG. This car is great in the city and can fit into those small parking spaces other cars can’t. If your job or lifestyle requires you to drive a lot of miles, the Metro is a no-brainer. This car has been a very pleasant surprise and has been 100% reliable. It has more pep than I expected and is a blast to drive. It cruises at 75MPH easily, no vibration, nice, straight and smooth. I have put 10,000 miles on it since March and have never even had a hint of a problem. (We had a heat wave in July for three days (95-100) and I had to drive about 400 miles in that timeframe, and the temperature needle never moved). The storage space is huge when you put the rear seat down. (I have two 100 lb dogs and they both fit comfortably with room to spare). When I bought it I had the following done and hold the receipts for your records: Replaced exhaust system including, new muffler, middle pipe, front pipe and gasket, replaced front brakes, new front rotors, rear brake line, replaced left front caliper, replaced rear O2 sensor, four (4) brand new tires mount and balanced, coolant flush, oil and filter change every 3000 miles, fixed passenger door lock. Receipts totaling $1336.00. It comes with daytime running lights, nighttime lights and high beams, intermittent/three speed wipers, wiper spray works perfectly. All dash lights work and has dimmer. Interior/door lights. Rear defrost. Driver and passenger airbags. Clarion detachable face CD player with front and rear speakers. Two cup sliding cup holder in the middle of console. Working cigarette lighter. Gas gauge and odometer works properly and is accurate. All directional’s and lights work. Four speed fan and all levels work perfectly. It has AC and the light illuminates and blows but needs an charge. Emergency brake works fine. Each door shuts tight and locks and unlocks with key. No noises on highway, windows roll and shut as they should. Original spare tire and jack in the trunk and comes with original manual. Interior is like new condition, nice and clean and I am a non-smoker. Minor things I’ve lived with: The service engine light is on but my mechanic said it is due to the gas cap I have (non-factory/not a Metro cap). This makes sense because section 2-43 of the Metro manual says a loose gas cap can illuminate the light. It has not affected the vehicle in any way, however. I have an inspection sticker until March of next year so there has been no need for me to get a new cap. (I will provide a full tank of gas to the buyer to offset the cost of the gas cap). The paint is original and doesn’t have a “new car shine’. It looks like the driver’s side fender got in a little ding at some point. There is light surface rust under the doors and a little above the rear wheels. The front of the frame (underneath the radiator) has rust and could use some patching, but has not affected the vehicle in any way and did have any bearing on my inspection sticker. The hatch opens from the interior only and does not open from the outside. When filling gas, sometimes it fills up normally, other times I have to go at half speed . I don’t know why it does this, (the last few fillups have been fine), but the tank is so small the extra minute or two has never bothered me. I am selling because I have a new job which requires a truck and although I am going to miss the gas economy, and zipping around in this car, I can’t afford both and continue to drive until sold. This is being sold as is and I encourage anyone that is in the area to take it for a test drive and get checked out by a mechanic. Please contact me with any questions and I will be happy to talk to you. This car has taken great care or me and will do the same for you. I can deliver the car within a reasonable distance for a reasonable fee. The car is 25 miles north of Boston. Thank you and good luck bidding-
