I MUST SELL THIS VAN***I bought and drove this when I was living in Germany the last year, and just imported it three months ago when it turned 25 this year. It is a Westfalia Mosaik (Factory-produced home-assembled kit available in Europe) model installed in a factory built ultra-eco 1.6 non-turbo diesel sunroof van. Excellent install that was done on a sunroof model so that no body cutting had to be done. Only 50 horsepower, but it will do 65-70MPH depending on the interstate grade, and it'll make it up any hill as long as you don't mind downshifting. I usually get 28-35 MPG depending on where and how I am driving it. The best part is the ultra low miles: total ODO is 145,000km, but the engine was replaced at 40k, so 105,000 KM = 65,000 miles on the engine, and only 145,000km = 90,000 miles on the chassis. The engine was replaced when the Mosaic kit was installed at 40,000 km. I have the original (in german) paperwork for it since it was born, including the engine replacement. The Speedo and ODO are in kilometers.My guess is that someone bought the Westy mosaic kit when they found the perfect sunroof 1.6 diesel model with only 40,000km for cheap because of a burnt engine and just did the camper install and a new engine all at once. There is a nice dark tint on all windows except the cab. It has some body rust in the usual spots: seam down from drivers door, front of passenger rear wheel well, and a couple surface spots on the rear door, but this is one of the most rust-free vans I have seen. The chassis was undercoated in Germany since before I bought it, and it is totally solid. Unfortunately the rear wheel well surround panels will need to be replaced in the near future. The panels are 75 dollars each. It is a 25 year old vehicle with 65k miles, so you can kind of figure out how it has and hasn't been abused. Everything works, but it is all old and a bit dusty and scuffed. The fridge and battery charger are 220v, but it would be easy to wire in any new 110VAC RV battery charger into the existing wiring (rated for both), and just put a 110VAC to 220VAC converter under the sink or behind the fridge in line with the fridge's AC power input, which is a standard euro wall plug. The fridge also runs on the propane or the 12VDC house battery under the drivers seat. The propane stove works, and there is a propane heater under the rear seat.It has the original tent with no tears or rot, but it has some staining streaks along the bottom, and the mosquito net is shredded. It has four 6" speakers around the cabin and a new Pioneer CD player. Additionally: I have a full set of 15x7.5 2001 Mercedes C class alloy wheels for summer tires. It will come with the factory 14" steel wheels with winter snow tires, and 15" Mercedes alloy wheels with brand new Firestone touring tires. Unfortunately the original hubcaps for the 14" steelies were stolen, and the alloy wheels are at the shop getting the new tires mounted, so please excuse the wheels in the pictures. Bottom line: You are buying my well-cared for, really good condition ONE OF A KIND Westfalia needing a bit more love to be perfect.
