This is a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan Handicap Van that we have owned for 8 years. We purchased this van with only 17,000 miles on it. It now has just over 96,000 miles on it. It has the floor lowered 11 inches and the wheelchair ramp. It has a power seat that moves front/back and swivels and works well. The passanger seat has the quick removal so that it can be easily removed if you want to place the wheelchair in that location. It has hand controls for a handicap driver and they work well. The seats are in good shape with no tears (drivers, passinger and back). The good - the power windows, power locks, radio, AC and heat (front and rear) all work well with the exception of the rear passinger sid window(will not open.) The van has good tires with a near new spare. The van drives well at highway speeds and all the lights work. The Bad - The check engine light is on. We have had this van at the dealers and have spent over $2000.00 on having the computers and several other components replaced, but the check engine light has not gone off. We have replaced the trottle position sensor, MAP sensor, O2 sensor and the transmission shift solenoids. None of these have fixed the van. Therefore, sence we live in an area that requires emission inspections, we have decided to sell the van. The van drive good at highway speeds, the only problem is when the van is at idle. the engine RPM surges up and down. After you put on the throttle, the engine smooths out. The power door on the passinger side will not open under power. I believe it is because the solenoid that unlatches the door needs replacing. We have a remote for operating the door and ramp. The ramp powers in and out well. The paint on the van is all there, but the clear coat is pealling.
