Vehicle Detail

Hi, reluctantly up for bid: Triumph Spitfire Mark III. Financial pressures and storage issues compel me to sell this fun, and economical sports car. I inherited it as a rolling project car. It has: an earlier high compression engine, which I rebuilt. It has a .010 under crankshaft. The cylinders only needed honing, new rings, bearings, and a "fast road cam" was installed. I ported and polished the head, valve job with new valvetrain parts, including a new rocker shaft assembly. I went through the carbs, new shafts, jets, etc. It has a new water pump, rebuilt generator, and a Crane Hi Intensity spark box. The engine runs great, starts easily, and sounds great with the Monza sport exhaust. It has a rebuilt clutch master cylinder, and a new slave cylinder. It has a later '70's era 4-speed, and a modified driveshaft. The front and rear suspensions have been rebuilt with lowering springs, KYB shocks, new trunnions, control arm bushings, poly rack and pinion bushings, new outer tie rods. It has a later style rear spring and rear end. The wheels stick out a little because it's running 1 inch spacers to adapt the vintage aluminum racing wheels. I still have the original steelies if the new owner wants them. The body and frame are structurally sound. The outer rockers need patching or replacing, there are some small stress cracks in the nose, etc. There were some small perforations in the driver side floorpan that I patched with fiberglass. The windshield glass and bottom seals are new, as are the window seals in the doors. It needs a fresh paint job, originally, it was white. In the interior is a new carpet set, custom made door cards, recovered armrest. It's running a mismatched set of Corbeau bucket seats. Also included is an NOS tonneau cover, and the removable hard top, which has all new seals, including the impossible to find window seals. I have what is left of the headliner and the hoops separately. This car is sold with a bill of sale, and transferable registration. This is a fun three season car, that I used as a go-to-work car, that is dependable, and gets 30-35 mpg. Thanks On Aug-07-11 at 18:58:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Some additional details. The headlights are flat-faced VW style, with much brighter replaceable H4 bulbs. A list of minor issues: Engine oil seeps at front seal area. Horn is not wired up. Speedometer gives a general approximation of speed, reads erratically and + about 10 mph. The tach reads about 500 rpm too high. It will need a new choke cable. On Aug-08-11 at 18:27:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Also included with the car is the soft top frame assembly, minus soft top.
