Offering a very fine example of a 1965 230SL automatic with both tops. Finished in White with Blue interior. Retains its original kilometer speedometer showing only 130,188 Km or 80,895 miles. Purchased new by an Army officer in Germany, brought back to US and owned by him until Summer of 1986. By August 1986 the 2nd owner had the car and made plans for it's refurbishing. He decided to repaint the car and fix any known mechanical problems. Very high quality repaint involved removing any parts and sanding down to bare metal, paint quality is equal to that of any new Mercedes. This process was finished in the late 1980s, this was a labor of love not a production job. Car has only been driven 2,000 miles since all work completed. Always garaged and owner said it never was in the rain and only got wet to be washed. There is one paint chip 1/8 inch on the left rear fender otherwise finish is concours as the day it was finished. Not a single paint chip anywhere else on the car. Car drives fine, engine smooth quiet and powerful. Transmission shifts fine up and down through its range. Brakes work perfectly and has like new correct Michelin X tires. Ice cold AC system. OEM fabric conv. top replaced after painting. Call Bill at 614-261-7131 for further information.
