Vehicle Detail

Beautiful 1979 MGB Roadster in Vermillion Red (Orange). 4 cylinder, 4 speed manual transmission. 126,241 miles. I am the second owner of this car. It purchased it 5 years ago from a gentleman in Los Alamitos, California (Southern California). It comes from a very dry climate, so no rust at all!! I have never had it out in the rain, nor has it driven through a puddle. It is garage kept (and covered) at all times. This car is in excellent condition. Not a show car, but an amazing driver and looks great...still turns many heads. The paint looks very good with some normal wear and tear...small scratches, minor dings, and a minor crease in the front left fender...about 4 inches long. The original top is in very good condition, with 4 or 5 small pinholes that can be patched if desired. It also has the split zippered tonneau cover. The original windshield is a bit pitted, but I will include a brand new one. Side glass is excellent. I replaced the front bumper and added the limited edition style front spoiler which looks great on the rubber bumper cars. Rear bumper looks fantastic. All chrome looks great. The trunk compartment (boot) has been completely carpeted. There is a tool roll (kit) in the trunk. The tires are pretty new...maybe 1000 miles on them. The Rostyle wheels look fantastic. The battery is 1 year old. The original spare tire is no good and needs to be replaced. The interior is in phenomenal condition. Vinyl seats are nearly perfect. I do have covers on them so they stay that way. The dash is perfect...no dry spots or cracks at all. Original carpeting and door panels are outstanding. I have MG logo rubber floor mats in the front. All gauges work. The temperature gauge works, but doesn't read. It needs a new sending unit. Got the part, but it was the wrong one. Never got around to replacing it. The fan still kicks on when it is supposed to, so I haven't bothered to fix it. I had a Pioneer in dash removable face CD player installed. I also had wires run to the shelf behind the seats for extra speakers. No drilling or holes of any kind. I used shelf speakers, and they go with the car. I also had a line run to the compartment in the center console for an ipod. All lights, directionals and electrics work fine...amazing for Lucas! I had the clutch rebuilt a couple of years ago, and new tie rods.. The transmission works like a dream. I had the alternator rebuilt around the same time. I just had new plugs and wires put in a few months ago. New air pump was just installed. This car does not burn any oil. It does drip a little bit from time to time, but I never have to add oil between changes. I have receipts for a few thousand dollars worth of parts and work done on the car. I have a lot of early paperwork from the original owner from when he first bought the car and some of his service records including consumer guides for British Leyland automobiles, the original MG passport for service and the original owners manual. I will also include an MGB service manual. I keep it in top running and cosmetic condition. It only comes out in nice weather and gets started throughout the winter to ensure proper lubrication in the engine. I don't know what more I can say except that I have thoroughly enjoyed this MG. I put a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money into it. It breaks my heart to sell it, but my family is growing and it's time to sell some toys. Feel free to email me with questions or if you live in the area, you can come by and check it out or drive it. This car can be driven worry free for long distances. I will deliver within reason (if you'll drive me home). Otherwise, delivery is the responsibility of the bidder. The car is sold as is. It is an old car (and British), so things do go wrong from time to time. Good luck and thank you! I will be adding some pictures with the top up. On Aug-04-11 at 17:14:05 PDT, seller added the following information:I tried to add pictures with the top up, but I think it's too late. If you would like to see them I will email them to you.
