Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1996 Ford 4x2 F350 Crew Cab XLT dually pick-up truck. It is Ford red with blue/gray cloth interior. The paint is glossy and shows well. This truck has the legendary 7.3 liter Powerstroke turbo diesel engine that is known to run forever. It has an automatic transmission with overdrive. This one has the full size 8ft bed and has a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. The previous owner we bought the truck from had the oil and filter service performed and they put 6 new tires on it. The tires have a heavy duty rating. The tires and oil change were done around 3,000 miles ago. No issues with the tires. In preparing it for sale I took it our local Ford dealer and had their Maintenance Program Inspection performed. As a result of the inspection we had the A/C recharged (no leaks), had two new front shocks installed, had a front end alignment performed and had a new left headlight installed. Also, they checked for recalls and there was one for the cruise control. That was fixed as well. Other than that, it is clean and ready to go. It shows very nice. Prior to our buying the truck, a new headliner, overhead console and wood grain trim were all professionally installed. As an XLT it comes loaded with power windows (front and rear), power locks, power steering, power brakes, A/C, cruise control, tilt wheel, AM/FM/Cassette stereo, intermittent windshield wipers, front “bucket/bench seat” with fold down center seat with storage console (you can sit three across in the front and in the rear so six can ride comfortably), manual sliding rear glass window, power bolster front seats, rear cup holder, remote lock and unlock (on key fob), security system, tachometer, cab clearance lights, factory 16” alloy wheels (the inner rear wheels are steel), rear chrome step bumper, and dual fuel tanks (I think 19 gallons each). We were told that it has the limited slip rear differential but we have never been in a situation to test that and we really have no way to verify. I think it may have ABS too but we’ve never been in a situation that it would activate so we have no way to verify that either. It also has a tow hitch, which appears to be a factory/dealer installed option as it has the trailer brake controller, two bed liners and chrome side steps. As to the two bed liners, the previous owner had a clear color spray-in liner installed and then installed the black plastic bed liner that you see in the pictures. We added a premium roll-up tonneau cover, front wind deflector on the hood and we had the rear side and back windows professionally tinted to factory darkness (premium package with lifetime warranty against fading and peeling). The interior is clean and we are non-smokers. As seen in the pictures you can see what looks like a few “pressure” marks on the passenger side rear seat. It looks like someone may of had a child seat installed and it left marks. There is a similar mark on the drivers seat. There are no punctures. The carpet is clean. There is virtually no staining at all. Glass is all good. It has two very small cracks in the dash that you can see in the pictures (to the right of the radio and above the radio in the dash storage compartment). It comes with the full set of rubber floor mats shown in the pictures. The exterior is clean too. There are a couple scratches here and there that you have to look for to see and there is a small chip, dent on the hood. I would say about the size of a dime. There are a couple of stress marks on the rear fiberglass fenders. I guess I would describe it as what a hardboiled egg would look like if you drop it. Not a through crack or anything. Looks like normal wear and they were there when we bought the truck. And, there are a few small drill holes on the lower front fenders by the hinge on the front doors that look like the prior owner may have had running boards on it before the side steps were installed. There is a crack by the “Ford” emblem on the tailgate but the plastic is intact. The tailgate is removable by the way. The undercarriage is clean and virtually 100% rust free. We did not drive it in the winter. Mechanically this truck is solid and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It barely has any miles at 107,000. It fires right up. There is no blow-by and it does not blow any black smoke like you see on a lot of diesel pick-up trucks these days. The muffler system is factory stock. It doesn’t burn oil or have any strange leaks. On occasion you can see just barely a drip of oil from the oil pan. When the Ford dealership did their inspection they did not even mention it. In a nutshell, everything works as it should and is in good shape. Also, for reference, I have some of the historic service records for the vehicle dating back to the original purchase date in 1996 as well as the owners manuals. This vehicle was been well taken care of and fully maintained. The person we bought the truck from had it for just a few months as he bought it for a business he was starting. His business plan was to haul/deliver custom Harley motorcycles across country so he had a gooseneck hitch in it. Well, the business did not take off so he had to sell the truck. We had him remove the hitch before we bought it as we did not intend to do any towing with it and had no use for the hitch. So, the bed liner is cut out from where the hitch was installed. Also, when he bought the vehicle and transferred title you can see that there was a typo on the mileage. Their DMV showed the mileage going from around 100,000 to 1,000,000 miles in just a few months! Not sure how the DMV made that mistake but I suppose each DMV is different. But, due to that error we have to say miles are not accurate. I’ve tried my best to describe the truck but please ask any questions. Overall I believe this Ford has been babied and it runs great and looks good as well. Not many out there anymore in this condition with such low miles. As mentioned, I would drive it anywhere without concern. This vehicle does not have any warranty, express or implied and is being offered for sale as an as-is, where is, used vehicle. I live in Chagrin Falls so the ad is posted from here but the truck is currently in Brecksville, Ohio (44141). Also, we still drive the truck so the miles will vary a bit. I have clear Ohio title in-hand. You will be required to pay any sales tax, transfer taxes, registration fees or any other fees to register or transfer the vehicle. We request, via Paypal, a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The balance is due in cash or certified funds and we will not transfer title until the funds clear. Regardless of what the eBay auction page may state, Paypal is for the deposit only. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Please bid with confidence as this is a great truck. And, if the reserve price is not met and the vehicle is not otherwise sold, I may offer it to the last highest bidder. I plan to list the vehicle for sale locally at some point so I may end the auction at any time for any reason. Finally, please do not ask me to disclose the reserve price as I would like to keep that private as part of the auction process.
