1953 Chevy BelAir Custom This Texas street cruiser showcases recent brilliant silver paint on an older custom restored '53 Chevy BelAir. It is powered by a 350 c.i. V8 and features air conditioning, an automatic transmission, and power steering. This car was removed from dry storage and gone through mechanically and cosmetically. Much restoration work and customization has been done to this 58-year old classic.VIDEO BELOW / PRESS PLAY VIDEO ABOVE / PRESS PLAY The exterior displays an exceptionally solid body with original brightwork intact throughout the car. A vinyl top has been installed along with vinyl inserts in the "BelAir" scripted coves for a custom look. Chevrolet's 1953 BelAir could be ordred as a convertible, sport coupe, 2-door sedan, and this, the 4-door sedan. This car is powered by a 350 (HZ suffix code) 4bbl. V8. This engine has recently been tuned and runs strong. The carburetor has just been rebuilt. The intake manifold replaced, a new water pump, thermostat and more. The valve cover gaskets have been replaced. The radiator has also been restored. An electric cooling fan has been installed too to combat the Texas heat. The fuel system has been inspected and repaired as need. The gas tank has been flushed along with the fuel lines. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm solid original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support. The interior features older customized blue upholsterey with gray piping. The dash displays the original instruments along with a trio of aftermarket gauges for the water, oil, and amps. A new Sony CD stereo with remote has just been professionally installed (complete with books.) The vintage underdash air conditioning unit works and blows cold. The air conditioning system has just been inspected, repaired and charged as needed. You'll also notice that the window moulding/garnish has been chromed and the door sills upholstered. The 15-inch custom wheels are wrapped in 235/60 series tires. The trunk has been custom upholstered to match the interior, complete with spare and spare tire cover. The undercarriage is exceptionally solid and original throughout this '53. The flooring and framework is very nice, indicative of a dry climate example.
