Vehicle Detail

1980 Rover SD1 3500 v8, auto, metallic BL Platinum paint with extremely tasteful velour brown/tan interior. 111k miles. I don't know a great deal about the history of this car, but I bought it for a project that's now not going to happen and it's far too good a car to part out. Since buying it, I've replaced some of the electrics (new Jaguar fuel pump, good airflow meter, recon ignition amplifier, new starter/main relays), changed the fluids (auto trans, oil), and flushed the fuel system thoroughly. It was last "on the road" in 2006, but has been dry stored until recently. The exterior is in surprisingly good condition, with a couple of very minor flakes in the paint above the rear wheelarch and around the sunroof. The car's been resprayed at some point, and they did a fairly poor job of painting the bumpers. The interior is in good condition, all the door cards and carpets are good. The front seats have covers on, but are just worn - the fabric isn't ripped or torn. The top of the rear seat has sun damage (see pic), but the bench and arm rests are good. Sunroof opens and closes as it should, and doesn't appear to leak. Original alloy wheels; all four tires are good. Electrically, most of the car seems to work. The heater works, lights work, driver's electric window works (and the passenger side one works sometimes!). Rear windows don't work, the cruise control is disconnected, and the a/c is complete but not hooked up (no belt). The driver's door handle is broken (inside), and the tailgate lock is kinda hard to operate. The car runs just fine, doesn't overheat, runs about 40psi oil pressure at cold idle and 28-30psi at hot idle according to the gauge. The transmission is the three-speed BW66 auto, and shifts as smoothly as any other one I've ever had. The trans fluid is clean and not burnt, the engine oil is also fresh and clean. The A/C and air pump pulleys aren't hooked up, but neither the A/C compressor or the air pump are seized. The car starts on the first turn of the key, but the idle is a little rough for the first couple of minutes. Clear title. As the car was last on the road in 2006, it'll likely need to be trailered or towed away - I'd drive it up and down the driveway all day long, but I'm not sure I'd trust it on the road just yet!
