For your consideration a 1961 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. This cute little car has been re done mechanically. It has a ribbed case transmission, a 1275 CC engine and twin SU carbs. The suspension was totally restored as were the brakes. The floor pans are new and some bodywork was performed but the body is rock solid as is the front clip. The car was raced at some time and has mounting points for a rollcage. The clip was converted to front hinging but I had it put back to the original arrangement. The car needs some fiddling with the electrics as some lights are not working but I am throwing in a brand new wiring harness that I never got around to installing. The tires are new and the car runs like a top and goes like mad. Come and get this classic crowd pleaser. Bid, win, drive!!! On Jul-27-11 at 03:26:10 PDT, seller added the following information: It is a 4 speed, there may be some surface rust but no rust through on the bonnet. The car is basically how I got it cosmetically so there was one wiper when I bought it and I left it that way. This may have something to do with it being raced. The rocker panels and the rear wheel arches look like they have some rust but there were wheel flares on it when I bought it and I had the guy who restored the mechanicals grind off the wheel arches down to the original metal. The speedo is not hooked up nor is the tach but this may be cured with the new wiring harness. The work done on the car was performed by one of the countries foremost Sprite expers. He was known as one of the Bugeye boys back in the day and lives here in southeast Michigan. The car also has an electric fuel pump to assist the mechanical one. It does have a disc brake conversion on the front wheels that you can see inthe pictures. I have added this info to answer questions from potential buyers.
