Vehicle Detail
1960 Austin Healey Bugeye SpriteOriginal Black-Plate California car.Rare original factory fiberglass hardtop.Original side curtain windows.Original spare tire, jack and tools. The car is "dry as a bone" and has NO RUST!Original paint. The car was found stored in a garage for 40+ years in the Northern California desert. All cosmetic "patina" is original including a "paint problem" on the right front fender that was "sanded and primered" by the owner some time in the late 1960's. The car has never been crashed although it does have 50 years worth of bumps, scratches and paint chips. It even has "pencil marks" draw on the hood by the previous owner's children while the car was stored in the garage. The car has been mechanically refreshed to reliable "daily driver" status with a full tune-up including spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, condenser, engine belt, starter, radiator, thermostat, water pump, front & rear brakes, brake master cylinder, rear wheel bearings, ignition switch, new fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel lines, fresh coolant & brake fluid, oil & filter and a new set of tires. These iconic cars are almost impossible to find in unrusted, original condition. The Bugeye Sprite experts at the local British car shows have been "all over" this car and uniformly confirm the rarity of its original condition. Unfortunately, the original California "pink slip" title was misplaced by the original owner, so the car is being sold with a bill of sale. Reserve price is very reasonable as car must be sold. On Jul-25-11 at 10:09:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Wow, lots of questions......a few answers: I can get an Oregon title for any buyer that would like to have one. The cost is approximately $100.00 with 30-45 days processing time. A clarification regarding NO RUST= No rust that cannot be removed in a few minutes with the finest grit sandpaper and a little bit of elbow grease.
