Vehicle Detail

With 2 small children the 2 door finally had to go and be replaced by a sedan so I am selling this car. The color is the BMW factory color of Phoenix Yellow and it is very polarizing - some people love it and some hate it. When it is clean and in the sun it really stands out, looks spectacular and turns a lot of heads. It was well maintained and taken care of and is in good condition but it was my daily driver and is a 10 year old car with almost 120,000 miles on it. Please note - the wheels on the car ARE NOT INCLUDED in the auction - the stock wheels with some snow tires are. I can offer replacement tires at wholesale prices and can mount and balance them for free if the purchaser wishes. Pictures of the stock wheels off of the car are included below. I purchased it in used 2002 with about 19,000 miles. The oil has been changed with the special BMW Castrol oil regularly. Normal maintenance issues and common failures including replacing the battery (2x - the current one is less than 1 year old), replacing the rear-view mirror (they leak believe it or not), recovering the steering wheel, replacing the shift knob/boot, replacing the power steering pump, changing the spark plugs (at 80k miles) and more were all done. There has been paintwork on the car all from various small incidents and there must have been one minor accident involving the rear quarter-panel prior to my ownership (9+ years ago) but that was just sanded and painted again last month. As you can see in the pictures the car looks excellent except for a slight crease in the hood from a tree branch falling on it, a small dent in the front fender from a Costco shopping cart and some light scratches on the rear quarter-panel from a jerk at a Wal*Mart parking lot. The car is very fast, handles and sounds GREAT with the intake, BMW Euro headers and exhaust. Someone who knows what they were doing on a drag strip (not me) ran a 12.807 at 107.27 MPH in about 2005. I believe that my last dyno test was about 310HP at the rear wheels. There are lots of aftermarket additions that would cost over $15,000 new and I do know that I could get more money by selling them separately but everything works well together and it would be a shame to part it out. Many of the coolest modifications can't even be seen. It has a 4 wheel Brembo big brake kit with slotted rotors but for some reason the paint is peeling on the calipers. It has an iPod adaptor in the center arm rest that is controlled by and reads out the song titles in the radio. It has a completely hidden Valentine 1 radar detector on the rear parcel shelf that also reads out in the radio (the V1 is NOT included in the sale). You have to see the pictures but I used a BMW alarm cover so it looks 100% like part of the car and nobody would ever know it is there. It has a laser (LIDAR) jammer that I can't guaranty works (it physically works fine but I can't prove that it does or does not jam the police) but I have been warned by it and never received a LIDAR ticket. It passed NY State inspection last week. I was unlucky enough to be one of the first people with the rear subframe mount failures and BMW blamed me. They have since lost a class action lawsuit about it but that was too late for me. I had the Turner Motorsport rear chasis/subframe reinforcement kit welded in but then other problems appeared later with the trunk floor. The trunk floor was replaced last month by a BMW authorized body shop. There was another issue with my old camber-plates that are no longer on the car that led to a a front strut tower repair. They were professionally welded and except for the fact that I didn't have the right color spray paint are all fixed. The car could use an Inspection II and the clutch is VERY heavy and picks up all the way on the floor but does not slip at all. The rear subwoofer is currently disconnected because something isn't right with it but the rest of the stereo works fine. The last annoyance is the differential whines even after being rebuilt. The original car options: Cold Weather Package (heated seats, headlight washers, rain sensing wipers) Xenon headlights (low beams) Moonroof Harmon Kardon Stereo Power front seats with adjustable width and lumbar Auto dimming rear mirror (replaced - a known failure) Modifications: Suspension: Eibach Pro-Kit springs (.6" Front, .9" Rear lowering) Koni Sport Single Adjustable Shocks Eibach sway bars Rogue Engineering Adjustable Rear Control Arms (ARCA) Rogue Engineering rear shock mounts (RSM) Rear trailing arm bushing spacers (don't remember which brand) Engine: Superchips engine software European headers/cats Rogue Engineering underdrive pulleys Rogue Engineering exhaust AFE Intake Drivetrain: 4.11 BMW gears in the differential UUC lightweight flywheel system Rogue Engineering short shifter Vorshlag Motorsports wheel studs Brembo brakes on all corners with slotted rotors Turner Motorsport brake duct backing kit (no ducts attached) Dr. Gustav Stores clutch pedal (shorter travel and metal instead of plastic) Interior: Newly recovered steering wheel StealthOne - read out hidden V1 in the radio (V1 not included) Escort LaserShifter ZR-3 laser jammer Dice - iPod adapter in the center armrest Stitched ///M headrests Shroth 4-point harness mounts (and harnesses although the harnesses are old) Aluminum trim Exterior: LED taillights from the 2003+ M3 Euro front bumper (no sidemarker cutouts) European side mirror glass The car is sold AS-IS with no warranty given or implied.
