1977 Trans Am Description Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 You are bidding on a 1977 Trans Am, as you can see from the pictures this car needs a complete restoration, but the good thing about it is it is all there but the A/C comp. The car is a 400 Pontiac engine with a 400 turbo transmission and the original 323 posi. Rearend the car has power windows, power steering, cruise control, and the factory 8-track player, the car also has the very rare low profile shaker with the ridge down the middle like in the movie Smoky and the Bandit and is in great shape and has not been cut out. This car will make a nice project if you cannot afford to buy one for 30,000$ that is all ready done. This car will need a drivers side quarter panel and drivers side frame rail at a cost of around 300$ for both. Believe it or not the door open and shut very nicely with no drag what so ever (very tight). I was told that the mileage on the car was accurate (at 76,000) and I believe it from the wear on the pedals plus the elderly gentlemen I bought it from (and I know this sounds crazy but its true) had lost his legs in an accident and has not driven in fourteen years, the last shown registration on the title shows 1997. This would make a great father and son or father and daughter project. Which is exactly what i was going to do with my son, but he has since decided to move to Florida in August of this year and I do not have the time to start this project right now. These cars are very hard to find especially a 1977, this is the year of the Smokey and the Bandit car. The 1977 and 1978 Trans Am's are bringing big money when restored.
