My Mother purchased this car new from Hopkins Honda 08/04/1982 (yes, I even have the original sales receipt & window sticker). I believe the opera roof, moon roof & A/C were dealer installed "extras". She hardly ever drove the car, and gave it to me in 1998 with approx. 16,000 miles on it. My boys learned to drive with this car & drove it daily to school, work...from 2002 thru 2008. The car has been sitting undriven now for 3 years. I sprayed some WD 40 into the cylinders, attached the jumper cables and it started & ran (but very roughly, the gas in it is stale...), but would not idle. I backed it out of the garage, washed it & took these pictures. I do not plan to start it again. I will let the new owner drain the gas, change the oil & do any other maintenance that should be performed on a vehicle that has been idle 3+ years. The muffler is gone, and I don't believe the battery will hold a charge. The exterior has some significant rusting. The interior is almost PERFECT. Mechanically, the car was completely reliable & ran like a champ (22.9 MPG, city) when it was being driven daily. The Michelin tires have less than 6,000 miles on them. I have complete knowledge of this vehicle since the day it was new and I can attest that the 55,951 miles on the odometer is correct Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end.
