1983 Mercedes Benz 280 SL Convertible Rare European Model red exterior with black convertible top and black interior inline 6 cylinder engine 5 speed manual transmission 120,180 miles VIN: WDB10704210017315 This vehicle just completed an extensive restoration. The body was stripped and painted the factory original color. The seats were taken out and recovered in factory perforated mercedes leather. The engine was taken out and rebuilt and reinstalled in vehicle. The exterior is flawless with no signs of rust, filler or chips. The chrome is very nice. The convertible top is in good condition with one small tear on the clear rear glass that can be easily patched. This vehicle also comes with the factory hardtop. The wheels have been upgraded to aftermarket 19" alloy wheels that can easily be put back to original if desired. The tires have less than 1,000 miles on them. There are no leaks, noises, or problem in the drivetrain of this vehicle. The clutch was replaced during the restoration as well. The interior is in nice condition. The seats are new and perfect. The carpets are not worn or discolored in any way. The center console is wood and is showing signs of age. The power windows work excellent. The blower works, but the air conditioning does not blow cold. The radio works, but antenae does not go up and down with power. One thing I noticed that since the restoration the speedometer works as well as the tachometer, but the odometer does not record the miles. This vehicle will make an excellent summer cruiser.
