Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Few classic motorcycles are more recognizable than the R90S. An instant icon when introduced in 1974, it remains one of the most sought after machines to compliment a European collection. This bike might be the candidate you're looking for if you're seeking an unrestored original paint example with the kick or electric first year only feature. With 50K miles on the clock, it obviously hasn't been locked up in storage and has been used, but sparingly. The previous owner had the bike for many years and was fanatical about maintenance and the current collector/owner continued the regime, carefully covering and storing the bike when not in use, away from the weather and out of harm’s way. You'll note the toolkit in the box, the new Brown's side stand and the panniers- which were usually stored in bags away from the bike and were brought out just for the pictures. Because the bike is unrestored there are flaws such as a chip in the fairing, and a minor ding on the bottom of the tailpiece. On the other hand, there is no rust to discover, the bottom side of the bike is perfectly clean and did I say it runs like a watch? It sounds exactly like a classic BMW should, from the muted exhaust note, the light ticking of the valves and instant response to the twist of the throttle. Sometimes mere sounds say more than any written words- and this, this is one of those machines. This R90S is being offered at a conservative reserve in keeping with its current mileage and condition. I think you’ll be hard pressed to discover a better value on a comparable machine, especially one accompanied with a file full of history, documentation and evidence of loving ownership. I’m representing this bike to the best of my knowledge. I’ve heard it run and know the bike was operated just last Sunday. So mileage might vary a little before sale ends.
