General information: It's the right time to buy an old truck. These types of collectable vehicles have taken a dramatic increase in value over the past years. The Gold Book Price Guide { manheimgold.com } established in 1968 is the oldest continuously published authority on collector vehicle value, An example is listed values on different conditions of 1964 Chevy pickup like mine, low retail $7785.00, average retail $13,095, which is about the condition of my truck, and high retail $23,670.00 Mine was appraised here locally in Tucson at between $11,000 & $12,000. The truck has a clear Arizona title with current 2011 tags. 1964 Chevy Pickup C-10 series, "most collectable",1/2 Ton, Step Side- Short Box,Two Wheel Drive Pickup. 1. Engine is a 1965 V8-283 c.i. small block chevy. It has been completely rebuilt with all new parts including bored .040 over standard with flat top pistons, new 3/4 race cam & hydraulic lifters, new crank and all new bearings, new carburetor is Rochester two barrel. The heads are big valve 194's of a later version engine & in great shape. 2.The transmission is a turbo 400 with B&M floor shift kit. 3.Suspension & Steering; new heavy duty shock absorbers in front,power steering and a front sway bar were added for better handling. 4.Electric; new battery and mat were installed,wiring was replaced from the cab back to the tail lights,new bulbs and glass were added to tail lights. 5. Gauges were added for oil pressure & engine temperature. These back up the original dash dummy lights.New lap seat belts were installed. 6. New AC & power steering was added. Exterior: a. The gas tank was added in rear with select switch for cab or rear tank. An electric fuel pump delivers fuel from the tank to the new carburetor. b. The spare tire is mounted inside the box. This truck has 2 matching Remington XT120 CTR tires on 15" X 8" rally wheels in front & two new HanKook radial P275/60 R15 rear. c. The exhaust manifold has new headers with 67 Corvett side pipes & mufflers. e. The frame had very little surface rust. I used a solution & wire brush to clean the frame , then painted it black. f. All new oak in the box. g. New hidden hitch & adjustable rear air shocks. 7.Maintenance & upkeep; new plugs, new electronic ignition, all fluids were changed, engine oil, anti-freeze, transmission & rear end lube, complete grease job including cleaning and repacking front wheel bearings. All brake lining were checked and cleaned. Brakes were bleed and initial adjustments made. Starting in 1964 all Chevy trucks have self adjusting brakes.
