Vehicle Detail
1933 Plymouth Model PD Mopar Deluxe 4 Door Sedan Up for auction we have a 33 Plymouth Model PD Deluxe 4 door sedan. This is a great looking car, with 4 suicide doors, hydraulic brakes and that low profile windshield. We are selling this for my 81 year old father who has decided it is time to start thinning out his herd of cars. This car is located in sunny Southern California and has been in California for most, if not all of its life. It came with a matched pair of California license plates with a 1949 tag on it so we believe the car has been off the road the past 50 + years. I would classify the car as an ambitious restoration or great street rod project. I was impressed with how complete and original the car was. There are very few parts missing. Even the crankhole cover, ashtrays and all door and window handles are there. The only obvious thing I saw missing was the glove box door and the seats. There doesn’t appear to be any rust thru on the outer body itself. The lower body beads where these are prone to rust out are in nice condition. There is rust thru at the top of the runningboard splash aprons where they mount under the body. The floor pan is completely rusted away from years of sitting with the top open and needs to be replaced or fabricated. The hood is in excellent condition. The four fenders are decent but all need bodywork. The front fenders have very little damage around the front frame horns where they are usually heavily damaged or missing. The passenger front fender also has a small tear. The rear fenders also need work but there is nothing real serious. The runningboards are nice, but will need to be recovered. The body itself is real decent and appears to still have the original paint. You can even see some of the original pinstriping on the driver door. The original PLYMOUTH script tail light lamp is intact. The front and rear bumpers and brackets are complete and in original condition. The grill shell and insert are also in excellent original condition, needing restoration. The hood ornament is broken, but is available in a beautiful reproduction. Most of the glass is intact but needs replacing. The windshield frame appears to be in pretty decent condition. The interior upholstery is completely gone, but the window garnish mouldings, inside door and window handles, ash trays and rear pillar handle pulls are complete but weathered. The dash is complete, the gauge cluster looks good. Mechanically, the car still has the original 1933 PD flathead 6 engine and transmission. The engine turns over freely. The distributor, starter, generator and coil are all intact. Even the original air cleaner is there! The original radiator looks good. He has the original gas tank which is out but goes with the car. The car has NO reserve. It is probably worth more in parts than the starting bid, but hopefully the new buyer will want to restore this car to its original glory or build a beautiful street rod, as the car is really too good to part out!! My father has a bill of sale for the car but a clean California title can be obtained for a little extra money. He can store the car for a reasonable amount of time after the transaction is completed, until transport can be arranged. If you want any additional pictures or have any questions or concerns regarding the vehicle, please e-Mail us and we will be happy to give you our phone number so you can speak directly to my father or I. We also have quite a few extra pictures if you need to see something specific. Please ask all questions before bidding as we want this to be a clean and smooth transaction for both my father and the new owner.
