I found this Ossa Pioneer after it had sat for some time. I brought it home and lubricated the cylinder, which was completely free, not stuck, and then cleaned the carb and put a new plug in it and it fired right up. I rode it around for about a half hour. It ran great, shifted great, idled great, and started right back up after shutting it off. The original fuel tank is soft in spots and I did not want to risk putting fuel in it before it was properly sealed and repaired, so I put the fuel tank from another bike on it when I rode it. There is a company that makes a special sealer for fiberglass tanks that will work even with modern fuels. I recommend that this procedure be done before adding fuel or doing cosmetic improvements to the tank. The bike is all original but the seat cover is bad, there is surface rust, etc.- basically it looks barn fresh, which it sort of was, since it was in cold storage. The rims are straight and nice. The original silencer, which is a rare item, or so I have been told. is in pretty nice shape. The bike has the original air cleaner housing, which is also rare. I would buy this expecting to do some work before hitting the road, for sure. I don't know if the lights work since was daytime and I didn't check them. I was too interested in how great it ran. It has good tractable torque, and does not seem "peaky" at all. It is the four speed model. I am selling many of my items for personal reasons, but I had planned on restoring this bike, since it would be fun to ride it off road and also perhaps to the local coffee shop... Happy Bidding!!!
