Vehicle Detail
Listed for sale by Coventry Garage LLC, is a 1964 JAGUAR 3.4 S right hand drive sedan that is in absolutely wonderful condition. We are offering it for sale with the "BUY IT NOW PRICE" OF $7500.00. (VIN# 1B 2476BW) This car has all of its factory original components: consisting of an automatic transmission and 2 carburetor 6 cylinder in line XK Jaguar engine. It is a silver/gray colored exterior with a very nice red leather interior, red carpets and lots of very nice wood in the interior. The car shows only 72900 miles on the working odometer. This car runs well, starts quickly, shifts nicely and has a very nice red leather interior. This car is a very original car- it was repainted sometime in the 80’s in its original color and the interior was re-dyed in its original color about 5 years ago. The paint shines very well. The interior leather shows very well with no holes or large cracks. All of the chrome, exterior and interior, shines very nicely. The steel wheels, hub caps and chrome trim rings are in great condition. The carpets seem to be the originals and are in nice condition as is the rear luggage area. The car is very presentable as it sits and a very nice “driver” condition car. The car has 4 new tires on it. The Car# on this car is 1B 2476BW; the Body # is 4B 2837; the engine # is 7B2776-8; the transmission # is JBC 20630. THE CAR IS A RIGHT HAND DRIVE CAR. We have just changed the engine oil and oil filter and have drained the transmission fluid and installed a new trans. filter and gasket. The car runs very well, shifts nicely and brakes very well; the master cylinder is only two years old. We found this car being stored in a garage in Pittsburgh Pa. by whom we think was the second owner as he had owned the car since 1977. He is a fellow Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh member. There is a little rust under this car; the floors, sills, rear suspension mounts are all in nice shape BUT the front right jacking point (driver’s side) is rusty and will need attention at some point. The trunk/boot floor is in great shape. The spare tire, jack and jacking tools as well as the original round tool box and owner’s manual are still with the car and will go to the new owners. All of the lights work, all of the gauges work and all of the chrome shines very nicely. The whole exhaust is in nice condition but it is NOT a stainless exhaust and does show some surface rust- probably from sitting for so long. The steering wheel is in very nice condition as is the interior wood work, the head liner, all the glass, all the chrome and all the carpets. We do have more photos of the floors from underneath the car and can send them to you. The floors are in very good condition especially at the rear large radius arm connections and the front foot areas where rust usually forms. There are no signs that these floors, sills or trunk/boot area were ever worked on as they are in nice condition. The floors and rear spare tire well are in great shape. There are no holes in the trunk area. Both gas tanks hold gasoline but have been repaired/mended. The car does leak and burn some motor oil and does leak some transmission fluid as all older British cars tend to do. We have tried to describe this car as accurately as possible; all the good and bad features have been addressed in this advertisement. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT this car is now 47 years old. Please do not ask us if the car can be driven home to Florida or Arizona. The car can be driven as it sits- but whether you want to attempt a long trip with it is entirely up to the new owner. Remember that all of the electrics were made by Lucas and are original to the car. All of the suspension is original. If you come out to see this 3.4 S Type sedan we can put the car up on our lift for you so you can view the car from underneath. Both Gary and I (Dan) are members of the Jaguar Clubs of North America and of our local Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh. If necessary, we can give you names of local Jaguar restorers/mechanics that you can contract with to assess this S-Type for you (at your expense). If you fly into Pittsburgh, we can pick you up at the Pittsburgh International Airport. All shipping arrangements and expenses will be paid by the buyer. The car will not be shipped until all funds clear our bank. We can offer this car at such a reasonable price because we are a very small, Pennsylvania licensed, used car dealership. We specialize in foreign/exotic/British sports cars but we have recently started selling Japanese sedans for everyday driving too. Please phone Dan at 412-680-1639, or Gary at 412-638-2715 to arrange to see and drive this great British sports sedan. If you want to see more photos, just write me an e-mail and I can attach more detailed photos. We are located at 1505 Fifth Ave., McKeesport, PA. 15132 USA (just outside Pittsburgh, PA.). This car is for sale locally and thus WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME IF THE CAR IS SOLD PRIOR TO THE END OF THE AUCTION. Thanks for looking; Dan and Gary at Coventry Garage LLCOn Jun-24-11 at 08:19:57 PDT, seller added the following information: PS: In response to some questions; The "Coventry Garage" signs on the sides of the car are magnetic signs and they are not covering any blemishes or marks and will be taken off the car before shipping. The sides of the car are very clean and the car has very few, if any, door dings or blemishes. All of the rubber gaskets/door and window rubber seals are original to the car (so are 47 years old). All of the windows do wind up and down as they should. No; I have not tried the radio but it is original to the car. THANKS, Dan.
