Vehicle Detail
It would be hard to tell this 2000 convertible from a 2 or 3 year old car by the condition of the body. I still get the compliment 'nice car' by strangers. I bought the car used on July, 31, 2004 with 29318 mileage from Grossinger Motors. Over 7 years, I've averaged 10,000 per year. The car has been garage kept, and since we are two people with three cars, it has almost never been driven in inclement weather. Other than normal wear and tear parts (battery, tires, brakes, etc.), the only mechanical issue I've had with the engine was replacing the EGR valve. Let's see, $270 in repairs over seven years, less that $40 per year, pretty good! Remember, this is Toyota at the height of its quality reputation. The only other issue I'm aware of is the power antenna motor is not working (it's in the up position, so reception is perfect.) It has the 6 disc CD player and just about everything you can have on this car, (leather seats, ABS, cruise control, air conditioning, power everything including front driver seat). The inside looks brand new. This is a non-smoking family. The top is in perfect condition. I have not had any traffic accidents since owning the car. The driver's side door has a few little dings (see photo) from inconsiderate passengers opening their car doors into the car next to it in the parking lot. Also, someone backing out of their parking spot in a mall bumped into the right rear quarter, but that damage has been repaired (see photo). The rear bumper has a little paint scrape. There's a slight bubble on the front driver's side tire, so that needs to be replaced. If I missed anything, it is only because it's so minor that I didn't see it. The car has recently had the timing belt replaced and full service for the 90,000 requirement, so you won't have to worry about that for another 80,000 miles. The car runs perfect, but now at nearly retirement age, we don't need three cars and I've gone pass my midlife crisis, so were selling the car with the most value for retirement savings. You have to see the car to appreciate it. It runs so well, you can't tell it from a new car. Kelly blue book states a car with 99,000 in excellent condition is worth $6,375 for trade in and $7,740 for private sale. Other than the antenna motor, I think it's in excellent condition. I've priced it low enough to compensate for the antenna and any other minor flaw I might have missed.
