Up for sale is a 1979 280E. You don't see too many of this body style with the double overhead cam M110 engine out there, so it is a little unique in that aspect. These engines are known for robustness and longevity. I purchased this car off of eBay not too long ago, and due to the inaccuracy of the seller's description, it isn't what I am looking for, although it is a better than average car in many ways. I have sold several vehicles on eBay over the years and pride myself on describing the cars I sell accurately, you'll see from my feedback that people are happy with the cars I have sold them and treat them well. Here's the accurate description: Good:Very nice paint, good shine, original and a neat color.Interior is in very nice condition, seats firm, carpets good, nice matsRuns very well, no smoke, starts easily, idles properlyTransmission shifts well, smoothDrives out well, smooth ride, brakes work properly, no drivetrain noises, no vibrationsClean overall condition, I washed the car before photos, but did not detail the interior or wax the carAll lights seem to work fine Windows all workingSunroof works very wellDoor locks work properlyBody in solid condition, no major rust at all, no rust underneath the car and floors and wheels wells are rust-free - it is consistent with it being a California car all its life Items needing attention:There is an exhaust leak somewhere, haven't taken the time to tell where, although the system looks to be in pretty good shapeThe cruise control is intermittent in it's operationThere is a quarter-sized tear in the headliner, and a small crack on the center arm rest about 3/4"There are three thin cracks in the dashThe climate control works on defrost onlyRadio missing, the prior owner promised to send the radio, but has not provided it, if I get it from him I will include it with the carThe hazard light switch is missingThere are four small rust spots on the car - one in the center of the hood, one on the pass side A pillar, one on the sunroof, and one on the driver rear fender - none are structural and all are small quarter size surface only.There are several small dents/door dings on the car, some paint chips, nothing out of the ordinary for a car this age I would call this a good driver-quality car overall. Many of these cars are pretty worn out, this does not fall into that category, but it isn't perfect either. The needing attention items are relatively minor and can be fixed or left as-is. All the parts are available through suppliers here on eBay or others out there. I bought the car from e.collectables1967, and was promised that several of the things that are not-so-good were actually good.
