Vehicle Detail
1978 El Camino; V-8, A/C, Auto; Solid, Drive or Restore NO RESERVE Welcome and thanks for looking. I bought this El Camino on eBay from a dealer in Central Florida, while on duty in Kosovo. Planned to drive it home while on leave, but the fuel economy (or lack of fuel economy, actually) changed my mind. Now on duty in Iraq, so friends in Florida are helping me sell it. I have the title and bill of sale from the dealer, and will give a bill of sale to the buyer. Paid $2,025. I did not title it. Would like to come close to break-even on it, but this is a NO RESERVE auction. Highest bidder at close of auction gets it. If I lose, you gain. Read here the description as the dealer had it on eBay when I bought it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EXCELLENT DRIVER, OR THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT STREET CAR THAT CAN BE FINISHED TO SUIT YOUR TASTE. IT HAS A GOOD RUNNING SMALL BLOCK V-8 IN IT, A GREAT SHIFTING 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC, P/S AND P/B, AND FACTORY A/C. THE FLOORS AND FRAME LOOK REAL GOOD, AND THERE IS REALLY NOT A LOT WRONG WITH THE BODY EITHER. THESE CARS ARE GETTING A LITTLE HARD TO FIND, AND THIS ONE IS BETTER THAN AVERAGE BODY WISE, CERTAINLY MUCH BETTER THAN ANY NORTHERN ONE. PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING WORKS ON IT, IT IS FINE TO DRIVE AS IT IS. YOU CAN ALSO TRICK IT UP HOWEVER YOU LIKE WHILE YO'RE USING IT FOR DAILY TRANSPORTATION. THE ENGINE I AM TOLD IS A 350, BUT IT COULD BE A 305. IT HAS LOTS OF ZIP, BUT IT HAS A 2 BARREL CARB. IT RUNS GREAT, A LITTLE PUFF WHEN YOU FIRST START IT AFTER SETTING FOR A FEW DAYS LIKE ALL THEM, BUT RUNS NICE WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING IT. IT ACTUALLY DRIVES PRETTY GOOD. IT HAS PERFORMANCE MUFFLERS ON IT, I THINK FLOWMQASTERS IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. THE TIRES ARE DECENT, BUT YOU'D PROBABLY BE REPLACING THE ROLLING STOCK ANYWAY. ANYHOW, WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET, THE IMPORTANT STUFF LOOKS TO BE PRETTY GOOD, SO IT'S WORTH MAKING A NICE RIDE OUT OF IT. BID WHAT YOU THINK IT'S WORTH AND WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I'LL LET IT GO IF I GET REASONABLE MONEY FOR IT, NOTHING HUGE. THANKS AND GOD LUCK. AND YES , YOU CAN DRIVE IT HOME, NO PROBLEM. IT'S OLD BUT PRETTY DECENT. CHECK MY FEEDBACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE. I DON'T HAVE ANY ADDED ON FEES AFTER YOU BUY IT. ------------------------------------------------------------------- There it is. The engine is a 305 c.i.d., I'm pretty sure, not a 350 as the dealer thought. It starts, it runs. Looks OK, but not great. Solid El Camino. Hope it fits your plans. Some things to keep in mind, because I would rather not have to do this twice: 1) Before bidding, please make sure that you have the money to complete the purchase. 2) Probably best to let your wife/significant other, etc. know your plan before bidding. And agree to it. 3) You will get a bill of sale from me and a Florida Title which was signed over to me by the dealer; getting your state to issue a new title will be your responsibility. Thank you for bidding and good luck in getting a great deal. Happy to answer any questions; email them to me via eBay. I will post questions and answers if they are relevant to other folks, or if more than one person asks same question. $500 deposit via PayPal at close of auction. Balance within 7 days by check or cash.
