Vehicle Detail
Beautiful, drivable classic car. I purchased this car in February 2002 from a legendary, retiring, MBZ mechanic in San Leandro, CA. The engine and transmission had been reconditioned and the car was painted to match its stable-mate, a 220Seb Cabriolet. The Cabriolet was finished but the Coupe did not have the interior completed when I purchased it. I had the interior reupholstered including a new headliner and have used the car as a weekend driver for the past nine years. Its been garaged or covered all this time but had suffered from sun-damage to the paint prior to my purchasing it. I am member of the Mercedes Benz Club America and have followed their advice on maintaining and upgrading this car to its current condition. This is one of only 1,700 of these hand-built models produced (only 25,000 Coupes and Cabriolets over 10 years of production). I have the original parts catalogue, owner's manuals and all repair records since the day I purchased it. THE YEAR OF THE PHOTOS SHOULD BE 2011 NOT 2010 (THEY ARE RECENT) Pros: 52,249 original miles; runs and drives great; strong engine; smooth shifting automatic transmission; fuel injection; power brakes; upgraded interior; new front and rear windshields; upgraded suspension (shocks, axles and arms); parts and repair services readily available in the SF Bay Area and through MBCA. Cons: Rust in the trunk wells, rockers and trunk; needs a new coat of paint
