Vehicle Detail

Folks, I am the original owner of this Explorer and have decided after 15 years that maybe my wife deserves a new ride. This Explorer has been very well maintained as I had always intended to keep it for the "long haul." In mid-August it had a major routine maintenance ($442, copy of bill attached). The vehicle drives very well and you are not only welcome, but encouraged to test drive it and/or have it inspected by a mechanic of your choice. It has not seen much four-wheeling, though it is well equipped to do so. The vehicle is set up with towing package, running boards and roof rack. It has not been garaged, and that is reflected in the no longer lustrous paint. The blue book value of the vehicle is $3,540 if in "good condition" and $3,040 if in fair condition. First, the bad:*The front bumper is badly rusted (as shown in photo -- the vehicle does not otherwise appear to have a significant rust issue).*There is a hairline crack in the windshield (as shown in interior photo -- almost invisible from the outside due to nature of crack and tinted glass)*There is a crack in the passenger side running board (as depicted in photo)*The center console will not latch all the way down (as depicted in photo)*The cruise control mechanism is fully functional, but loose on the steering column (It can be shoved back into place and I assume it can be tightened down -- I routinely use cruise control so it is not much of a functional issue)*There are some chips, scrapes and small dents on the body (I have depicted the two that I think are worst -- they are frankly not much for a vehicle of this age)*There are a few random stains on the carpet, primarily in the rear seating*There are 4 small "footings" installed in the exterior roof (visible in some of the photos) for a Thule roof rack we used for kayaks, etc. (not easily removable) -- I would sell the rack seperately (and cheaply!) if you are interested in the extra carrying capacity compared to the OEM roof rack Now the good!:*Sorry, I have to say it again: The vehicle runs great! *The vehicle has had no accidents*The XLT trim line includes many extras such as power front seats, power windows, keyless entry (one keyless entry fob provided), etc.*Tires are excellent: Top-rated General Tire "Grabbers" with only 13,000 miles*Air conditioning is strong (new compressor in July 2010) and has rear outlets (depicted) and four wheel drive system runs operates smoothly*Vehicle is set up for towing and easy access to the roof due to the running boards*Great sounding 6 disc Alpine CD changer is installed in console*Leather seats (leans back all the way if you're catching some sleep at a rest area)*Floor mats (in good condition)*Rubber cargo tray for rear included*Great interior room for hauling stuff, especially with rear seat folded down*New radiator in July 2009
