AWARD WINNING CAR! This car was judged by the National Corvette Certification Board and awarded the highest honor of "BENCHMARK". For those of you who are not familiar with the term BENCHMARK, it is given out very rarely to Corvettes that are among the BEST of the BEST. In order to receive BENCHMARK, the car has to win SURVIVOR and be certified GOLD at the same time and be in exceptional condition. This car is a BENCHMARK Corvette and was chosen to be part of "SPECIAL COLLECTION XVI" in 2000. This is an RARE honor. I have pictures of the car being judged at Boomingting, another with it being displayed at the Special Collection XVI, and an article on the car's success at Bloomington. At Chevy-vette fest, it won "GOLD SPINNER" and SHOWCASE". The car has a chrome dress up kit on the engine, but I have the original valve covers and airfilter lid. There is a binder full of documentation, original window sheet, judge's score sheets, original paperwork including owner's manual, copies of titles etc. that go with the car. The car is PRISTINE! The paint is outstanding on the car. No smudges, no chips, no gravel spots and absolutly no road rash . . . it is a #1 car. The car is #49 out of the 6k made. The story goes that the first 50 cars went to the Indy 500 to carry VIP's and Indy Drivers around the track. However, I cannot prove this car was on the track. I am selling because I am getting ready to retire and have no where to store the car. I hate to sell it, so I woud like it to go to someone who will take good care of it.
