You're looking at a very nice 85 G-wagen. This vehicle has been restored and has several rare options. This is a 1985 car, ebay does not recognize the european VIN. Options:One of very few G-Wagens to have the "safari" roof - this is a factory optionIt has the factory Recaro seats - these are by far the most comfortable seats that I have sat in in any car The body:All rust has been taken out and factory new panels welded inAll new window rubber, including front doorsAll new plastic parts - side moulding, headlight surround, etc.All new paint Mercedes Silver Interior:All original interior in excellent condition - no rips, wear areas, or stainsHeadliner in excellent conditionRubber matting in very good condition there are a couple of small tears all less than 1/2 inch Driveline:The driveline was completely overhauled by Eurotruck ImportersAll new joints, seals, bearings, suspension rubber, etc.Drive shafts all balancedBrakes all renewed Engine:This rig has been converted to a 300GD from a 280GE by the previous owner, it is a very well-done conversion by Eurotruck and is exactly how you would expect. They took great pains to make this be the very best including fabricating a custom A/C compressor mount to retain the A/C in the vehicle. That being said, the engine does have a rod knock and it has blow-by and in my opinion needs an overhaul or replace it with another engine. Engines are available used for $900-$1,500, overhauls are $4,500-7,500. It is currently running and driving, but this will need attention.The good: New starter, overhauled turbo, overhauled injection pump Other items:The car has an exhaust gas temp gauge, nice stereo with CD, Cold air.Includes the original tools, jack and manualsWheels are from a Sprinter with the appropriate spacersAll filters and fluids changed within the last 600 milesMany receipts and records of the work done on the car Everything WORKS. A lot of money has been spent on this G by the previous owner the buy it now price is far under the cost of restoration even if the truck were given to you free. Engines are plentiful and inexpensive, I just don't have the time to put into getting the work done. I have been over this car carefully and cannot find rust of any kind - rare for this vintage G, I had a '79 that looked good, but just the panel replacement and repaint would cost more than my BIN price.
