Up for auction today is a 1971 Chevrolet El Camino. Unrestored condition. Its been sitting for 20 years. Factory it came with the small block 307 and saginaw 3 speed manual transmission. Its not with the car any longer. The car does have the clutch pedals and such still intact. The car has a new rebuilt th 350 transmission in it. The car has slight rust on the driver rear quarter panel around the wheel well. The passenger side seems to be rust free. The frame is solid, no rust at all. The bushings all in good shape just weathered. 10 bolt rear end. The brakes are in good and original. Drum front/rear brakes. The best part of the truck is the bed, it doesn't have one spot of rust or a ding anywhere in it. For folks that have restored ElCaminos know how involved and costly a bed replace can get. The glass is all good and original. The doors are aligned perfect. It has never been wrecked. The car was taken off road in 1981 and parked after motor was pulled for one of dads other projects. The interior is in need of restore as well, the floor boards are excellent in whole cab except for behind driver seat, it needs a patch there, from looking about 12 in x 12 in, but good throughout. I'm not trying to get rich by selling the car, but I have 5 ElCaminos and numerous grand prixs, gto, etc that I'm going to cut down and concentrate on getting the others built. This truck is for those folks out there that are interested in doing a project of there own and are wanting it to be an ElCamino. It has a clear wyoming title in hand.
