Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1964 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special! Specifications are as follows: VIN # 64M007239 Mileage 69,609 (original) Clear title Engine is an 8 cyl automatic 429 cu. in. V8 with 340 H.P. Black exterior Blue interior This vehical was purchased new in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin in 1963. I purchased it in the summer of 2003 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and it was driven here to Rockford by its owner at that time with no problems (a little over 200 miles on the highway). The interior is in near perfect condition. The cloth seats show virtually no wear at all and have no rips or tears. The head liner is in perfect condition. It still has the original black floor mats with white Cadillac crest. The original carpet does show some wear, which is to be expected for the age of the car. The interior has real wood veneer accents which are also in great condition for its age. The front and rear seats have fold down armrests. Working front power bench seat. It has climate control with air conditioning. All the power windows do work, with the exception of the two front vent windows that open, but do not close with the switch. The original AM radio does not work. The "twilight sentinel" control on the interior if the car is missing, but the wiring is still there so another one should be easy to install. It does have a newer stereo installed in it, but it is not physically attached to the dash of the car and rides on the center "hump" on the floor in front of the front seat. All the chrome on the exterior is original to the car and is in great original condition. I did purchase new "FLEETWOOD" emblems for both sides of the car as they were missing when I purchased the car. I had it repainted in 2005. The paint is in good condition and does show some imperfections. The trunk operates by original push button control in the glove box and it has operating automatic pull down. The vehical does run and drive well. It sounds a little loud while running due to the exhaust system the last owner had installed on it. I have all the service records from the last couple of owners and they will go with the car. Also included will be the original owners manual and 1964 Cadillac accessories book. Please keep in mind that the car is 47 years old and therefore will be sold "AS IS". It is not perfect, but I feel it can be with little work. It is a very solid car! They really don't make them like this anymore--that is for sure! The buyer will be responsible for shipping the vehical and all arrangements for shipping will be made by the buyer as well. A non refundable deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of the auction ending and the remaining balance is due within 7 days of the auctions end. The car has been stored for 3 years and at the present time is not licensed. As mentioned before it does run and drive well and always starts right up. Since I have not drove it recently, I would recommend that I be taken via flatbed trailer or towed because of the age of the brakes. I was told that they are older--so for your safety, that's what I would do. I did drive it around the parking lot of the storage facility and the brakes seemed to work good. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. I'm not an expert on cars in any way. It was my intention for this to have been my hobby, but unfortunately my life is to busy and I have no extra time for this great Cadillac. Happy bidding!
