1956 PACKARD model 400 2 door hardtop coupe Better than it looks but a project to finish. Rescued after sitting derelict for 17 years, I have rebuilt the entire brake system with new wheel cylinders, new steel lines, new flex hoses and new shoes. The wheels were broken down, sand blasted, re-painted, tires remounted and balanced. The entire dual exhaust system was replaced with Packard specific parts including optional rear resonators. A new battery was fitted, new ignition wires and sparking plugs and new oil filter. The generator was replaced with a modern new alternator. The engine runs very well, no smoke, no ticking noises and the power steering works fine. A hole in the headliner behind the passengers sunvisor is really the only damage to the interior, it is remarkably well preserved. The rust seen on the front fenders is NOT structural, it's just from missing paint. There is some small rust , about 24 inches in the rocker panels, not seen in these photos as it is behind the stainless garnish. Rocker panels are available right here on ebay!!! I have the rear fender skirts, they are currently in the trunk. It also comes with a 1955 Packard factory service manual. The car is registered and titled in my name, I have driven it about 100 miles, it is BIG, HEAVY and COMFORTABLE. Four wheel torsion bar suspension. Medical reasons force it's sale.
