Vehicle Detail

1966 Garelli scrambler, model is called Fantrail. This motorcycle is 100% original, unrestored. It is in amazing condition for it's age. It has original paint, Pirelli tires, seat upholstery, grips, plating, etc. I have owned more than 60 little italian vintage bikes and this is the best kept original condition motorcycle I have ever owned. It has been stored inside it's whole life. I purchased it from the estate of the original owner 16 years ago. It has a clear California title in my name, and is in current non-op status. I displayed it at Hanford vintage motorcycle show last weekend and it placed first in the original unrestored class. All this being said, it is not perfect. Plating is tarnished in places and paint has some chips and scrapes here and there. Seat has about a 2" seam that is just begining to pull apart. Front tire is starting to show some minor cracking, the rear tire is still perfect. Still it looks great overall, I just don't want to mis-represent it. The only thing I replaced is the tank waterslide decals and footpeg rubbers. Both were NOS original parts. 100cc two stroke pre-mix engine starts easily and runs like new- it only has 1420 miles, and sounds tight like a good low miles two stroke. It has the air pump still in its mounting clips under the tank, and the toolbox contains a cloth tool pouch with a little wood handled screwdriver, a wire brush and the extra piece of chain to add so that the larger rear sprocket can be used. These Garelli's were sold in this country as Rex motorcycles and also as Mirmans, after the importer's name, this title lists the make as Mirmi. This is a real time capsule and is a great piece of captured history. A real find for any collector of italian motorcycles. This motorcycle is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I prefer local pick-up, but i will crate the bike for resonable cost- depends on how involved the crate needs to be. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping. I will drop off at any shipping terminal in Los Angeles area for free. Apparently ebay did not approve of my use of other motorcycle brands in the ad, so they cancelled all the bids and closed the auctiion! So here it is again without the offending references to other italian makes....
