Vehicle Detail

Here it is, one of the original "Good Fella's" car. For sale here is a 1972 Lincoln Continental, 2 door coupe. I am the second owner of this car and purchased this car from the dealer of the estate last year. Now I have my eyes set on another car, so this one will have to go, I need the room in my garage. Let me start off by saying that I am not a mechanic and cannot answer detailed questions, but will do my best to answer any and all questions concerning the vehicle. The car was purchased by an older gentleman in the fall of 1972 in Albany, New York. I do have the original window sticker from the dealer and it listed for $8203.33 and came equipped with almost every option available at that time. There are a few little door dings and a small scrape in the driver's side front fender and the passenger side rear quarter panel, very small. The body, frame, drive train, interior are all in very good condition. This car runs strong and has the original 460 V8 big block. It even still has the original floor mats with the car and the original jack and carpeting in the trunk. It still has the sticker on the inside of the trunk lid on how to use the jack. All the chrome is good for it's age, not show quality, but very nice. No surface rust on the chrome anywhere, just some very minor pitting. Every piece could be rechromed without having to purchase anything new. The body is very solid and straight. The floor pans and trunk are alos very solid without any holes anywhere. It looks like it was touched up here and there along the bottom of the front fenders and along the bottom of the trunk lid. The rocker panels, door and rear quarters look untouched. The wheel skirts are also the originals. There is some slight bubbling under the vinyl top near the trunk lid on both sides and some very, very slight surface spots along the body side moldings on the doors. Burgandy is the original color of this car and to the best of knowledge has never been repainted and is still as it was from the factory. The hide away headlight covers also work properly. It is equipped with a 460 V8, 4 barrel carb and automatic trans. The engine starts right up and the tranny goes through the gears smoothly and with out hesitation. The cruise control needs a new diaphram in the control under the hood to make it work, nothing big. The air conditioning worked when I stored it last winter and the power seats work as they should. The only window that operates properly right now is the drivers side. The other 3 windows are not working properly right now. All the window switches and motors work, but the windows do not go up and down. I believe there is just a vinyl gear inside that has gone bad. That's what my mechanic told me, states that it's an easy fix. I did have the carb rebuilt last fall also, the gaskets were dry rotted and sucking in air. No problems anymore. Ther are 107,457 miles on the car as of today. The interior is also very, very nice. All guages and idiot lights work except for the clock. Ther are 3 small cracks on the dash and a small 1/4" mole in the headlinerbetween the sun visors. There are some cracks in the drivers side arm rest on the door and a small tear in the drivers seat near the door that has been repaired, but not very well. It was like that when I bought the car. It still has the original AM/FM radio that works, but not very well, and all the original speakers in the car. Other than that, the interior is great and the car just gllides down the road. I took it on a 200 mile trip last summer with no problems. The tires are about 75% and blanced with no shaking. This is how I put the car in my garage last winter. I fired it up the other day and she ran very well, but I have not taken it down the road this year yet. This is a nice car and you will not be disappointed. I highly encourage anyone interested in the car to come and inspect it before bidding. If you are not able to, I will answer all emails or phone calls and answer all questions honestly and to the best of my ability. Like I stated earlier, I am not a mechanic.
