Mercedes-Benz 1986 Model W126 300SDL Turbo Diesel No Reserve Introduction: Up for auction is a 1986 Mercedes 300SDL with a W126 6-cylinder engine. This particular vehicle is in very solid condition for its age and is the ultimate daily driver! It is more efficient and more powerful than the previous 5-cylinder model. This vehicle gets very good mpg, ranging from approximately 24 mpg city to 30 mpg highway. It all depends on your speed. This 300SDL can cruise 85-90 mph all day long with no problem. Exterior: The exterior paint is as shiny as a brand new vehicle. The body is straight. I would score it 7.5 out 10, (10 being show condition). The front and rear bumpers show some oxidation. Four brand new Michelin tires were installed less than 500 miles ago. The wheels are suitable. Overall, the condition of this vehicle is very clean and presentable. Interior: The interior is gray and it has normal wear for its age, as you can see from the pictures. The wood has a few clear coat cracks. The dash has a small crack leading from the inside corner of each dash speaker. The leather steering wheel is in good condition and not worn out. The Becker stereo works fine, along with all the speakers. The rear view mirror and one front floor mat are missing. The air conditioning blows ice cold air. The heater also works well. The power seats on the driver and passenger side move and work superbly in all positions. The central lock works perfectly. Two keys and the original owner’s manuals are included. Mechanical: This vehicle has a very strong running engine. It starts immediately after the glow plug yellow light turns off, regardless of the outside temperature. The engine doesn’t smoke even on hard acceleration, no “blow by” when the oil cap is open, a good sign for a tight engine. It does idle smoothly and revs without issues. Brakes are very strong. This vehicle has the option of operating on diesel, biodiesel, vegetable oil, or any combination of the three. For the model year, the mileage is very low, original and correct at 135,993 miles. However, the vehicle is still being driven daily so the final mileage will be different. The vehicle has received meticulous scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance from Mercedes trained mechanics. Ownership: The vehicle and the title can be transferred to the new owner as soon as all funds have cleared. I have clear title in hand ready to sign. This is a 25 year old classic vehicle.
