Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a historic vehicle, rich in history, and fun to own. People have seen the car and come up to me with tails from the past about this little car. A brief history is; § It was first created in Southern California in the late fifties. § Bought and brought to the Phoenix area in the sixties by a fellow named Garry Jordan. § The car has always had a Pontiac motor, which the original motor and rear end was removed to power a small dragster. § However, before removing the motor and rear end the car was featured in the September issue of Rod Action magazine (which I have a copy) showing the original motor, trans, top, and bed, along with the pale green paint and yellow ribbon paint scheme. § The fuel tank is the original 1950’s vintage Schlitz 15.5 gallon keg mounted on the bed. § The frame is an original Model T frame with chromed transverse rear spring. § The lower portion of the cab and the doors are original steel C cab parts. § The motor currently is a 455 Pontiac (1974) with a Turbo 350 transmission, and 10 bolt rear end. § The headers are the original headers, (the flanges were cut and replaced with flanges to fit the 455 heads. They were ceramic coated in 2010. § I rebuilt the wood top and covered it with convertible cloth material. § I replaced the wood bed with box tubing and aluminum diamond plate, and oak side boards. § I covered the original wood dash with carbon fiber. § The car was totally restored in the fall of 2010. § It has custom PPG paint (Poncho Gold and Bandito Brown) along with black w/red metal flake on the front and rear axles. § Wilwood single piston brakes are on the front along with spindle mounted 16 inch Kendra motorcycle tires. § The rears are Cragar SS wheels with Mickey Thompson tires. § A Demon 850cfm carb sits on the ceramic coated intake manifold. § Holley blue fuel pump and Mallory fuel filter are mounted under the bed. § The interior is simulated reptile with camel colored headliner. § Most of the parts were re-chromed, but not all. We rebuilt the car for PPG as a featured vehicle for the 2010 SEMA show in Las Vegas. In January of 2011 it won “Best in Class” (altered truck) at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, CA. I have talked to 2 people who claimed to have owned the car while here in Phoenix. There is a story a girl owned it for awhile, but I have not located her. The person I bought it from had it sitting in his garage over 15 years, so it has been out of circulation for quite awhile, but people in the Phoenix valley still remember it. This little car needs to be kept in circulation for people to enjoy. If it does not sell, I will keep it just for nostalgic sake. I am sure it will continue to be a show winner and a car to talk about for a long time. Shipping:Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements.
