Purchased this 1979 Corvette coupe in 2007. It is being sold as a project car. After I took delivery, I realized it was in worse shape than I had been told by the seller. I began having work done to make it safe to drive. The tilt steering column was rebuilt. The right rear trailing arm assembly was replaced. Rear springs. 4 new tires. Master Cylinder. Brakes rear calipers and pads. Power steering pump. Vacuum / Headlight Actuator and related hoses. Ignition lock. Coolant tank. Washer Pump and Bottle. Power Steering Pump. Distributor and Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs and Ignition Wires. I put about 3,000 miles on it as a Sunday driver when I wasn't having it worked on. I was driving it on a short ride when it threw a rod, killing the engine. This is the base model, with 195 hp 350 cu. in V8 and is an automatic. Electric windows work were repaired and are working. Car has mirrored glass T-tops. My plan was to buy a crate engine and continue with the project but since I am not handy, my wife convinced me to buy a car in running condition and let someone else take on this project car. The car was in my garage for the past two years. The interior needs to be replaced. The car was originally a Nevada car so there was no rust, however, the heat beat the interior. The passenger door lock was punched out and the paint is peeled in a couple of spots. I purchased this as a "matching numbers" car but I doubt if that is relevant now. Priced as a project car that does not run, without rust, with work done and new parts above, this may be the one for you. Car is listed as pick up only, no delivery. I picked up a 2005 Corvette, which has taken over the garage and put this one out on my driveway. Although the T-top gaskets are drying out, the car is not leaking.
