You are looking at a body off the chassis restored and thoroughly updated 1955 Ford Thunderbird. We restored this TBird in 2007 and have just recently purchased it from our customer after he has enjoyed it for the past 4 years. When we restored this TBird there was a plan to keep it as stock appearing as possible but to thoroughly update the drivetrain and accessories to more modern conveniences. The body was removed from the frame and stripped to bare metal. All rust areas were properly patched. The frame was stripped to bare metal also and completely disassembled. The original color of this TBird was Torch Red and we repainted it with a 2001 Corvette Torch Red which is a bit brighter red instead of the original tomato color Ford had. The interior was treated to a red and white which I believe was the original color combination. We have extensive documentation of the restoration both in pictures and invoices so there are not any secrets as to how properly this TBird was restored. Modifications and Updates: Aluminum radiator Electric radiator fan Vintage Air Conditioning and heat with billet control panel with backlit knobs 1979 Ford TBird 351 Windsor V8 with Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake manifold. Engine was professionally rebuilt and has approximately 330 HP and 9.5 compression so it uses pump gas. Custom coated headers Holley 4bbl carburetor AOD Ford automatic overdrive transmission - new, not rebuilt. Mated to the original shifter and adapted in. 12 volt Painless wiring harness Electric windshield wiper conversion Heated seats Lumbar seats AM radio converted to AM/FM 200 watt stereo with ipod hookup and trunk mounted CD changer Polished billet tilt steering column with mahogany wheel Quartz converted electric clock Tachometer and gauges overhauled and calibrated Xenon headlamps in stock housings New interior, door panels, aluminum trim, seat padding and cover, carpet, dash pad and curtain Fully upholstered and finished trunk with original carpet on floor March fully polished accessory system Chromed and polished alternator, a/c compressor Rack & pinion power steering system 4 wheel disc brakes with dual master cylinder Kelsey full chrome wire wheels with wide whitewall radial tires Full true dual exhaust All chrome restored and plated throughout NEW Ford 9" complete assembly with 3.55 posi gearing Haartz cloth convertible top Fender skirts (not on but come with car if wanted) Stainless brake and fuel lines Stainless a/c and heater lines Fully blasted and painted suspension Custom painted frame to match body New fuel tank All new weatherstrip There are other items that were done and the restoration was extensive. This is a ready to drive and enjoy car. It wins every show it appears at!
