Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an 1983 Chevy Camaro Berlinetta. I obtained this car in the fall of 08' from a good friend who had given me the car in trade for some work I did around their house. The previous owner(my friend), who worked for a car dealership, bought the Camaro when it was traded in by a customer for a new car. Although I've owned the car for 2 1/2 years, Ive only put approx 5000 miles on the odometer. It's an extra car, that spends most of its time sitting in the driveway and it's time for her to go. The car is clean inside and out, especially for its age. Has a V8, auto trans, PS PB PL. The body is straight with only minor dents/dings/scratchs with the worst being on the left fender. Virtually rust free, only a few spots are in the beginning stages of surface rust. It does appear to have been repainted at some point and time, but the paint is fading and has lost that showroom shine. The Interior looks great, with the exception of it needing a headliner. The foam backing is still in place but the orginal cloth material had been previously removed. The seats are free of rips and tears, and the dash and console have also been well maintained. The glass is good with only a minor chip on the drivers side windshield. The wheels are aluminum, and the tires good with approx 75% tread left. The brakes and exhaust also newer, being done just before I obtained the car. It has all the A/C components in place but currently does not work. The "check engine" light is illuminated, but I believe this is due to some of the OE sensors being removed when the aftermarket carb was installed. The engine, a V8, is listed on the car as being a 5.0 305, and runs very well. the block is painted orange which leads me believe it not the original engine, or has been rebuilt at some point. It has a newer 4bbl carb, Accell coil, headers, chrome air cleaner and valve covers. The odometer reads 67161 miles, but not sure if the is actual or not, as it is not listed on the title. The car is not perfect in any way and im sure there are some details or flaws I may have missed, but is in great condition for its age. So please ask any and all questions before bidding and I will try to get you an answer ASAP. Also, I can take and send additional photos of specific areas upon request. **The 1983 Camaro is being sold As-Is with no warranty expressed or implied. **Buyer is responsible for all transpertation and/or shipping of vehicle. The car is NOT currently registered and therefor is not currently street legal. So any test drives MUST be conducted on the back roads near the house.
