Please look carefully through our detailed photos and be sure to play our video of this classic Edsel, Thanks! - Sam 1958 Edsel Citation This beautiful & rare '58 Edsel's restoration was started but the owner is unable to complete it due to illness. Much mechanical work has been done and many rare parts have been sourced for this car over the years. This is a complete example that also has numerous parts both vintage and new that are included with the sale. The optional 410 engine was rebuilt by Performance Plus in Austin, TX with receipt. The braking system has been rebuilt. The gas tank has been replaced. The dual exhaust system has been replaced. The shocks have been replaced. The car has been converted to electric wipers. The seating has been recovered with the correct light blue vinyl & medium blue cloth upholstery. We have a vintage Ford Air Conditioning Polaraire box included with the car. This is your opportunity to own and restore a great example of the Edsel Citation. This car was sold new at Spruill's in Great Bend, Kansas. We have rare service manuals, sales advertisments, and a seldom seen Edsel Specifications handbook. All of these things the owner sourced over a number of years. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact myself, Sam, at 972-748-6389 or email with any questions. Bid early and often and I will consider adding a buy it now price to the listing. The Citation was the top-of-the-line model. This well-appointed Citation features all original sheetmetal, flooring, and framework throughout. Much of the original optional Tri-Tone paint remains. This car was ordered in Royal Blue Metallic & Powder Blue. The interior features replaced upholstery along with beautiful original instrumentation. The speedometer works. This car runs and drives. Be sure to play our video clip above. The Citation was the top-tier model in the Edsel line. One of the few options a well-equipped Citation offered was the pushbutton Tele-Touch Automatic Transmission. This car is also optioned with the remote trunk release button. This is a face only a mother could love, or a classic Edsel enthusiast. Under the hood is the rebuilt E475 engine. This top-optioned 410 cubic inch V8 was factory rated at 345 horsepower and torque was at 475. The engine was disassembled and rebuilt in 2007 by Performance Plus in Austin, Texas at a cost of $2,367 w receipt. The transmission has also been rebuilt, but we have no paperwork on it. This is evident on inspection of the transmission and how it operates. The coolant hoses were replaced. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm clean and solid inner fenderwells, firewall, and core support. The original underhood identification tag is in place as well. This is very solid example with the only real rust damage being to the outter quarter panel skins due to clogged drain holes. We have good quarter panel skins for this car as well as a nice and straight rear bumper. The doors, hood, and trunk lid open and close correctly. All of the glass in intact. Two of the power windows were not working, so all of the motors was removed for future rebuilds. We have two sets of rocker panels too along with decorative trim. The factory sheetmetal is in exceptional condition. All of the rare original and hard to find stainless and trim work is intact. The undercarriage showcases excellent original flooring and inner skins along with a replaced gas tank and recently replaced dual exhaust system. The original floorboards are in place. We have many new parts in boxes included. We have a padded carpeting set, hood and trunk insulation, a headliner, and many other parts that will be secured in the car for shipment. The door panels are in good condition and the door undersides are solid on this dry climate Edsel Citation. Enjoy the remaining photos. Again, feel free to contact me with any questions.
