FOR SALE - 1978 Chevrolet Chevette with working COLD air conditioning, automatic transmission, 4 cylinder engine that I have averaged about 30-33 miles per gallon with the a/c blowing on the highway. The car only has 29837 miles on the odometerat the time of this ad being placed. I am the 3rd owner and te vehicle has ever been titled outside the state of Georgia. CLEAR TITLE IN HAND Some history on the car is it was purchased ne in Buford, GA where it spent most of its life being stored in a barn from 1981 to around 2006. During that time it was only moved each year to obtain its yearly emissions sticker and registration. Since I've had the vehicle I have put only about 2000 miles or so on her. She is stong running and has never left me stranded. The vehicle has new set of tires, new shocks, I had to install a new muffler due to it sitting in the barn all those years, I removed and cleaned the tank, carburetor and replaced the timing belt, new heater core, oil pan gasket, and tune-up. The car still has the original working AM radio. Now for whats wrong. Really nothing major besides surface rust near the grill on the hood and the passenger door panel dry and flaking. I have noticed that when the car sits in the garage for weeks at a time the transmission first will not shift out of first untill the car has warmed. This is not only a collectible but it is and can be a daily driver. By the way there is no rusty floorboards and the shock towers are in PERFECT condition. It seems the fuel gauge float may be stuck because when I started the vehicle today it moved past full. Also I didnt list in the original listing but I also installed a new starter, fuel pump, lines, hoses, and rebuilt the carb due to the car sitting for all those years before I took ownership. Didnt want to risk starting the car and having a possible fire from dry rotted and non-working mechanicals. This is a re-list...Please understand the mileage is true and I will pass along all the original paperwork I recieved when I took ownersip of the car. Which includes previous inspection paperwork whch notes the mileage to be true. 29000 miles and not 129000. You will NOT find another Chevrolet "other" Vette in better condition for it to 34 years old.
